yep, i'm that way too. when i'm traveling, no matter how tired I was before I went to bed, I can always wake up without an alarm clock, and feeling energetic.
but without anything to look forward to, I can never feel refreshed getting out of bed. even with now i'm doing 50 push ups before and after sleep, I still feel like crap.

Lucid Dreaming , look it up. They have alot of vids about it on youtube. Supposely it helps you through life. Im trying to learn how to do it.

for those who dont know what lucid dreaming is:

A lucid dream is a dream in which the person is aware that they are dreaming while the dream is in progress. In lucid dreams, it is often possible to exert conscious control over the dream characters and environment, as well as to perform otherwise physically impossible feats

I have been able to do that in the past. I stopped drinking and haven't had one since.

Where do you read up on it?

I think this is true. I feel the most refreshed when I am on vacation, and a couple of vacation days have already passed. I've exercised, and I get to bed not too late, and then I know I have something great in store for the upcoming day.

When all of those conditions are present, I usually wake up refreshed.

Theres alot of sites on google you can look through. I dont know any one in particular. But if you go on youtube there's alot of people sharing their experiences in lucid dreams theyve had in the past and how's it helped them out in daily life.

Regular exercise is helpful, but I still require coffee to be human in the mornings.
