Fellas, So I have a Master Card given to me at work to use for transportation (Metro) to and from work. Well, I have since changed jobs and don't need this anymore. However, I still have $314 on the damn card that I can't get a refund for. Why???? I want to get this money back and have thought about transfering it over to the Q card that Metro offers, then going to their downtown station to get a refund from Metro. I talked to Metro though, and they say that I am not able to get a refund like this though. Has anyone experienced this before? Were you able to get your money back? Thanks in advance.
As far as I know that is true. I have a Q card and use the wage works program with my company and they have given me a lot of problems. I'd be willing to buy your card for 50 bucks if you want to get it off your hands.
My company offers this but I just put money right onto my Q Card without messing with it. Too many horror stories like yours. We already get a 30% discount if we add money to our Q Cards in our parking office. That plus Metro giving you 5 free rides for every 100 is pretty good. Makes the recent fare increase a little more bearable.
Oh yeah the other thing I forgot to metion is the reason they don't allow refunds is because these are usually either pre-tax deductions from your paycheck or are subsidized amounts that are paid for by your employer.
