The Titans and Vince Young would like to thank Mr Meowgi for his hate cause it has fueled them (even tho he doesnt watch football or watch the texans) : http://scores.espn.go.com/nfl/recap?gameId=261224002 The doubters have motivated Young all season long. "That's all you heard all season, that a rookie's not going to be able to do this and that," Young said. "And I took that as, `Hey, let's show the world that you can do that." also thanks Meogwi for bringing the negative mojo that was deflected by SuperVince's cape and hit the toyota center on Yao and Tmac. Thanks! imagine when people of houston cheer for the people of houston like superheroes like vince young!
Actually, to be clear, according to this: http://www.denverbroncos.com/page.php?id=334&storyID=6381 First rookie to throw for multiple touchdowns in first 4 games (I guess Rypien wasn't a rookie) and 2nd to throw for multiple touchdowns in first 4 STARTS (Marino). As for Vince, they won again. He is the qb of a team that has been winning games. I'll give him credit for that, it has been a nice run by the Titans.
I took a closer look. From the Nashville newspaper, VY makes the playoffs if ALL of these happen: 1) The Jets lose their last two games (tomorrow at Miami and next Sunday against Oakland). 2) The Bengals lose to Pittsburgh next week 3) The Broncos lose to San Francisco and the Chiefs beat the Jaguars next week. 4) The Titans beat the Patriots next week. Neither 1, 2, 3 or 4 is likely IMO. Nice try Vince. You had a good season; better luck next year.
Thanks for the info. Yeah, it is kind of confusing. I was just trying to figure out how the Broncos game factored in to it all since it seems like they will have a better conference record and I wasn't sure if that is what made the difference or not. I wasn't thinking about the Chiefs, maybe that has something to do with it.
Actually, yes that may be the case. KC win and a Denver loss would put them tied with each other and they are in the same division. That might be how TN could go ahead. http://www.nfl.com/standings/tiebreakers
I wouldn't mind seeing Vince in the playoffs...if he didn't play for the freaking Oilers and wasn't in our division. It would make for a great story if he does make it. But I don't know if the Titans are that good yet, I mean they needed overtime to beat the Texans.
From my understanding, it's an either-or on #1 and #3. Obviously, #4 has to happen. #2 is reasonably possible - until today, Steelers had been playing really well the last month. Jets probably aren't going to lose their last two, which means #3 has to happen. Chiefs could reasonably beat the Jags. The big challenge for the Titans is for the 49ers to beat Denver somehow. All said, it's very unlikely.
wierder things have happened in the NFL. The 49ers aren't bad, they are underrated. Frank Gore has had a great year running the ball.
Being a die hard Titans fan this has been a fun ride. What a season. It really is nice to see the development of this team. They are really growing and I am sure they are gaining confidence which will help them as they strive for the ultimate goal of winning the Super Bowl. With Vince as our leader their is no doubt in my mind that the Titans will be winning a Super Bowl in the near future.
You know, I didn't see any Hall of Famers on that Buffalo Team. I didn't see Marv Levy out there. I don't recall seeing Bruce Smith. I don't recall seeing Jim Kelly, nor Thurman Thomas. And then Andre Reed, but I don't recall him having a bust in Canton, but he should. JP Losman is a piece of crap. Lee Evans is no Andre Reed.
Kam, do I have to remind you that the Oilers lost to a team WITHOUT JIM KELLY? Faced with watching their team trail by 32 points, many fans made their way to the parking lot while the Bills headed for the record book. Buffalo’s backup quarterback Frank Reich, who was filling in for the injured Jim Kelly, led the charge. Interestingly, Reich who played behind Boomer Esiason in college at Maryland, led the Terrapins to the greatest comeback in college football history as a senior. Also, The Bills were in PLAYOFF CONTENTION with the win vs the Titans. They were ELIMINATED from the playoffs because of VINCE. Also, JP Losman sucks? How is his team 7-8? I assume if your QB sucks you'd be much worse.
It was déjà vu all over again for Peerless Price as he gave the Bills a 24-21 come from behind victory in Reliant Stadium. Down 21-17 with 15 seconds left, Losman delivered a 15-yard strike in the back of the end zone to Price on a 2nd-and-10 play that beat a cover-two zone by Houston. Price deftly dragged both feet before falling through the back of the end zone. "It was an all go route where we had four verticals going up the seam," said Price. "And J.P. in the huddle before the play said, 'I'm not throwing the freaking check down this time. I've got to take a shot in the end zone so guys get open.' I was running the route and the guy covering the slot backed up and sat down and I wrapped around behind him and J.P. threw a great ball and I did a good job of getting my feet down." For Losman it was the first fourth quarter comeback of his career as he finished 26-38 for a career-high 340 yards and three touchdowns. The Bills quarterback was ecstatic to deliver his team a hard-fought victory in the waning seconds. "As a kid that's your dream," said Losman. "The game is on the line and you always simulate that in practice. It's a childhood dream to be that guy making those throws. This is my first time pulling through it. I've had some chances before. We came through this time and it feels great." Price had a game-winning touchdown reception in the fourth quarter against the Texans in 2002 when the Bills came from behind to win 31-24. "That did come back to mind," said Price. "I caught the ball in the flat and was able to turn it up for the game winner. I think I've got something going here in Houston."
yes, I remember Franky leading them back, but those other guys didn't suck too. JP Losman still sucks. Buff's D is pretty decent.
