It is pretty clear to anybody who was watching in his last couple of seasons in Tennessee that the guy was absolutely toxic. Since then, it is clear that he does not have the qualities to be a good NFL QB. This is evidenced by the lack of teams seeking him out for a starting gig.

Has he been staying in shape and studying the game or has he been Royce Whiting it?

When you are a very small cabal . . . it is easy to black ball players out of the league

He was apparently working out with one of the top QB gurus.

    Can you black ball yourself?

He seemed to split that team. The old guys didn't like him, but the younger guys loved him.

I think they enjoyed going shirtless in the club sipping on Patron.

I don't think that's true at all. His second to last year (4th year overall), he rallied an 0-6 team to 8-8 and he was pretty widely praised both on and off the field. The next year, he was the unquestioned starter and was voted a team captain by his teammates. He had some problems in his 3rd year, and then the blowup at the end of that season destroyed him. But this idea that he was toxic the last few years doesn't fit the facts.

I don't think is true at all. I think he comes with a lot of risk, both in terms of injury and mental, and teams don't want to risk changing the offense to fit him because they don't know what will happen. NFL coaches are naturally and understandably risk averse, so it's difficult for him to find a starting job. But that's very different from not having the *ability* to be a good QB.

There are no excuses for Vince. He put himself in this situation. That said, if he gets himself in shape and turns things around then good for him.

If you are a head case, you lack the ability to be a good QB. Playing that position is not purely physical. One of the reasons Manning has been so good for so long is that he is not a head case.

Thanks for the update VJ. Sounds promising.

Brandt was more effusive in his praise, saying Young "put on a show" and was "magnificent" passing the ball in the pocket and on the run. Brandt touted Young's accuracy; a few of Young's long tosses to Texas receiver Marquise Goodwin drew "oohs" and "aahs" from the crowd.

    YES!

So, curious what does it matter since there is already plenty of tape on him as pro? It's not like he is coming back from injury and has to show he can still make a pass.
