I'm hoping he gets another start or two to earn himself a starting job somewhere next year. I have no idea if he'll do well, but I'd like to find out. For the same reason, I'm glad to see Tebow starting - it's nice to at least see what these guys can do and let them succeed or fail based on performance, rather than just people believing something to be true.
VY did pretty well, and both his TDs were to guys who had not caught one this year and in one guys case not a pass all year. Maybe VY will sign in Houston... DD
but why do you continually come in to hate? why do you still care? seriously, if you're not a fan, what is the point.
I like macalu. It wouldn't be a VY thread without him. UH fans can root for Kolb in Arizona, why can't Texas fans root for their favorite QB who led them to glory? And for the record, I could careless if he joins the Texans. The only attachment I ever had with the Texans is that Steve Patterson helped bring a team to Houston. I worked in the same freaking building back in the day when he and McNair were trying to get a new team. Steve Patterson didn't get enough credit for the Rockets championships.
I agree on both points but i have to give him a hard time. on another note do people realize he had a 98 passer rating last season?
probably not. On the other thread someone was criticizing VY about the Giants game and they asked him if he was watching it, he said he wasn't. I also think the Tebow comparisons are done by people who don't watch games either. I saw the Thursday night game, Tebow ran a running attack offense. VY ran a pass happy West Coast offense. Also another criticism by someone who didn't watch the game is that he threw short passes. Obviously didn't see the 50 yarder to Jackson that was called back.
i'm just a die hard Texan fan that had to put up with VY fans during his first four years in the league. don't think we ever received any mercy from them. so slinging a little poo back feels good even if it stinks.
Because fans of the local NFL team don't have to deal with Kolb/UH fans saying that said team screwed the pooch by not drafting him and that he is so much better than [starting QB].
As a UT alum and Texans fan, I found horn fans SUPER ****ING ANNOYING. Having VY play on a division rival was just bad for a lot of different reasons. It's great that I can finally root for him again. I'm not "all of a sudden" an eagles fan. I like VY so I will root for the eagles. I'm sure UH fans will root for Keenum if he is playing for a team in the NFC. Would be really interesting to see what it will be like here if Case goes to Indy, Jax or Tenn.
The network flashed a graphic during the game that VY has the 5th lowest passer rating of all QBs with a minimum# of passes the last 5 seasons.
Yeah - that's unfortunately what happens when you have limited data. How many QBs are even eligible under this criteria, and how many were rookies during that timeframe when you have the crappiest stats? Most crappy players are either out of the league or don't have enough passes over that time to qualify. And Vince had much more playing time as a rookie and in his 2nd year, so his stats are distorted to that. But he improved in each of his years and last year, he had a top 5 QB rating when he got hurt.
Case ain't VY. VY single handedly won a classic NC against the most hyped college team ever with TWO heisman winners and a bunch of future NFL players. A team that hadn't lost a game in 2.75 years.
