How so? They weren't forced down his throats. The issue could be that he doesn't accept orders from his boss (Bud) and is basically throwing a passive-aggressive tantrum about it. Whatever it is, as DD said (and I hate to agree with him), Fisher's coming off as a douche here.

Fisher knows exactly what he's doing in turning public opinion of Vince when he says the things he does to the media. Say what you want about Vince, but he's never publicly criticized anyone involved - Fisher or anyone else. He has his emotional issues, but he hasn't tried to generate controversy like Fisher has.

Again, what Fisher wants us to know. How do we know he didn't peek in and give up.

And, even if Fisher made an effort to find Vince, if talking man-to-man is so important to Fisher, how hard would it have been for Fisher to tell the QB coach to tell Vince where he could find Fisher.

"Hey, Vince, coach wants to see you in his office."

    Pretty damn difficult I guess.

Sounds like he held the meeting without Vince there, and told his Asst. coach to not let Vince in/tell him not to come in once he was located.

They are part of a track record that shows Fisher is a players' coach.

And he IS following orders from his boss. VY has been the starter all year unil he was put on the IR. Just because he gets benched for a half doesn't mean Fisher is throwing a tantrum. Was Shannahan throwing a tantrum when he benched McNabb?

As far as your 2nd paragraph, you are right that Fisher is playing the media (maybe he's finally ready to leave Tenn), but I don't agree that VY hasn't generated controversy. He had a confrontation with his coach in front of other players in the lockerroom then walked out on his team. And how about throwing his shoulder pads into the stands? And there was also that controversy about how he may have quit on his team in 2008.

I understand this, but it just strikes me as funny that he makes such a big deal about speaking man-to-man after not doing it himself. Also, there were numerous reports that Vince was told to leave while in the presence of numerous teammates. Now, if Vince was in a place with a lot of teammates, it doesn't seem logical that Fisher would not be able to find him, nor does it seem like Vince showed up during a team meeting and not allowed in.

Also, just saw this from Monday:

    Again, man-to-man?

I think Major is pointing out that Fisher stuck with Kerry Collins even when he was down 59-0 last year, yet pulled Vince at halftime. Just seems like different standards.

Not true about being the starter all year. See the Miami game, when vince wasnt "healthy" enough to start, but was "healthy" enough to come in after collins was hurt. If your "franchise QB" is healthy enough to be the backup, he should have been starting.

Here's some quotes showing the great communicator Fisher appears to be with his players.

"At the end of the day, if your fingers aren't broke, my agent's phone number is only 10 digits and it's a toll free number, too. So it doesn't take but 30 seconds to call my agent and tell him what your plans are."

-Kevin Mawae- Former Titan Pro Bowler

"Of course, I would have liked to have been with the team I was with for the past decade, and that wasn’t able to happen,” Bulluck said. “They never reached out to me, so I did what I had to do."

-Keith Bullock - Former Titan Pro Bowler

"He never came to me and said he was OK and wanted to go back in...

-Jeff Fisher - Current great communicator with his players head coach

I guess Keith Bullock and Kevin Mawae didn't tell Fisher that they still wanted to play for the Titans.

Fisher is going out of his way to embarass Vince.

    That's not a man thing.

I think comparing contract negotiations to this is a little silly, dave.

Thank God the Texans didn't draft this horrible, cancer of a player. What a piece of ****.

I know you Texans fans would rather have Vince play against your team.

VY's meltdown ruins the fun for both teams.

Young's texted apology bugs Jeff Fisher http://espn.go.com/blog/nflnation/post/_/id/32269/youngs-texted-apology-bugs-jeff-fisher

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Jeff Fisher’s post-practice comments on Vince Young's texted apology are part of this story.

I tend to agree with the coach here – and on everything as it relates to Young and his Sunday blowup. Hard conversations with people in authority get decreasingly difficult the more impersonal they are.

Face-to-face trumps phone, which trumps e-mail or text.

On Twitter, several of you have already asked how Young could have done things face to face if he had been told to leave the facility on Monday.

But he could have showed up or called Tuesday to get in front of his boss two days after cursing him out in front of the team.

Young's Twitter account indicated he was likely already making plans to go home to Houston.

Bud isn't going to let go of VY, because Bud is is more obsessed with Houston than Nashville, and would do anything possible to keep the people like mrdave543 and the other people from around Houston who live and die with UT as Titan fans.

Honestly, if he has to choose one or the other, I'm positive he'll choose VY. Personally, I think Fisher is the more valuable of the two from an NFL perspective.

That is the truth. Doesn't look like either team will make the playoffs, might as well have a little rivalry.

Agree about him choosing VY, but I think Fisher has run his course in Tenny, they are tired of him, both places need a change.

He shut up all last year even when they were getting blown out 59-0. He has played well this year when he has got the the opportunity. He shouldn't have disrespected fish, but fish hasn't been very kind to VY.

I understand VY's frustration, I am not saying he is right, but to put up with Fish's crap for years has to be frustrating.
