The rockets webpage (rockets.com I think) is having a poll for your favoite rocket ever. I recommend going there and voting for bullard (aka The Bull).

Bullard winning this contest would be a Magical Matt Moment. Lets vote for Bullard.

Bull got screwed. I think it was a fix. He was beating Drexler 58% to 42% the night before it ends, then all of the sudden in the morning, he loses 49% to 51%. I demand a recount! This was all a set up.

Are you serious??? We are talking about Clyde the Glyde Drexler a Houston and NBA legend. The contest never should have been that close.

Lil Francis, These guys are just making a mockery of the contest and I do not know why but hey have their reasons. Perhaps they are not Rockets fans and they want t o make the contest look silly.

You completely misunderstood what this contest is about. It's not about who was your favorite Rocket ever. It's about who you think would win in a one-on-one match. You can not seriously tell me that Bullard could beat Drexler. Bullard should not even be here in the first place. He beat Otis Thorpe and Calvin Murphy to get here?

Bullard was a very popular Rocket and has a pretty significant following here. He deserves to be there. Regardless, if he gets more votes he should win, I think the fix was in because they wanted Drexler in the final four and not Bullard. I doubt Drexler got this mysterious mad rush of votes in the last hour of voting.

It was funny for you to vote for Bullard and that is great I am happy for you. Now the jokes are over Bullard was a sorry player and I have been sick of him since he was getting playing time over Eddie Johnson in that 98-99 season. You guys are really making me sick with this Bullard bull. It is weak and corny so find somethign better to do than mess up a contest to vote for is the best Rockets of all time. Voting for Bullard is disrespecting the Rockets great players of the past and present and that shows me you are not a fan of the Houston Rockets.

Actually I think the fix was in reverse...... I'm fairly confident that some organized Bullard fans were flooding the box and it's the reason he got as far as he did.

Clutch, one night Bull is ahead by two thousand votes. The next night i wake up and he's losing by one percent of the vote and since then the vote total # has stayed exactly the same at 10922.

Well, why did only Bullard's matchups have over 6000 votes, and the others stayed around 1000. You can't seriously say 5000 more people were more interested in that.

I think it's pretty obvious that it was the Battle of the Cheaters. Bullard supporters have been stuffing the ballot box on his behalf for the entire contest. You can tell from the vote counts. Finally, the cheating got so offensive that another cheater came to Drexler's defense and righted the ship. I, for one, am happy to have Bullard out of there. As much as I liked him, now I'll just be annoyed when his name comes up.

See, and I didn't even know that. I haven't been following it or even voting, so didn't know that, but if it's true, I mean that is clear evidence that a handful of users (or even a single user) are flooding the box. The Rockets should have some sort of tracking on that (at the bare minimum by IP), because there's no way Calvin Murphy should have to actually cowtail to Bullard on air as if it's really true that Rockets fans consider Bullard the better player.

I'm fairly confident I know who did it. If you knew what I know, about a certain poster creating multiple accounts and responding often to himself to plug a certain something, then you'd be fairly confident too. :)

It's not that people think Matt Bullard is a super-star or anything but it's The Bull. C'mon, he was a fan favorite. Love those moments when we were down by 5 or 6 in the ending minutes of the 2nd or 3rd and Bullard comes in, hits 2 3's and leaves the game never to come return.

It's pretty easy to cheat the system. In an earlier matchup, I voted for Barkley about 40 times in 10 seconds when experimenting with their system. I won't say how so as not to mess up the voting in the final four.

    Two things I find funny:

    (1) That the system is so easy to get around. I mean, I didn't do some sneaky thing or write a program to vote or anything like that. The simplest of checking measures would have solved the problem.

    (2) That so many people are outraged by Bullard winning. I mean, if the top 4 were supposed to be predetermined, why have a voting contest at all? If it would be an outrage if Olajuwon doesn't win the whole thing, why even bother with a vote?

I think it would have been great if Bullard won, because it would show how ludicrous the whole idea is, and it would have been fun to see the Rockets management spin the results.

Clutch, one night Bull is ahead by two thousand votes. The next night i wake up and he's losing by one percent of the vote and since then the vote total # has stayed exactly the same at 10922.

To me, this is a pretty clear indication of a vote-fix. If you're going to allow cheating, allow it. Otherwise, block it entirely (it's not hard). But don't adjust the votes at the end to make the outcome whatever you think it should be. That's just ridiculous. At the very least, they could have added 2000 Drexler votes to make it *look* fair instead of just changing the final result by switching votes from Bullard to Drexler.

Just a hunch, but I'm not so sure you are right on this one Clutch. Who do you think did this? It may not even be someone who posts on here. I think I may know what happened at the 12th hour of voting, but I'm not going to post it until I'm certain. I'll continue research the Bullard-Drexler mishap.

As likeable as Bullard is, this thread alerted me to the contest and I voted for Drexler.

Why do people support Bullard over Sam Cassell. Cassell played with a smile on his face and was a GOOD player.
