dude can attack the rim and hit outside shots, easily 15-20 minutes of playing time there.

I am surprised Wafer was waived by many team. He almost double the PPG and 3P% from last year.
Or is Adelman so good to bring up young players ability?

And look at Gerald Green/Mavs now. sigh... They let him to be starting SG too soon.

i think being waived several times really taught the young fellow that yes he has talent, but he needs to play ball with IQ and effort to earn a place in the league. He has been working hard throughout the season, that's why rick gave him time (over luther head) on the court and he shines when the opportunity arrives.

it's really a great story in this season. It's always great to see hardworking people succeed.

100% agree.....Von is a sick athlete, just off the charts quick with massive hops, some players stop there and rely on that, not Von, he worked hard and has become a better player and now his hops and athleticism compliment his shooting.

He is shooting a career high, and I don't think that is a coincidence, the guy just worked his butt off to get better.

Wafer is doing what the glue pot should be doing from an offensive point of view. I've been saying for ever that there are a lot of creases out there when Yao,tracy and or ron are playing. Everyone wants to talk about spacing and all this oth bull. When Yao gets doubled and the ball is reversed, there are huge seams in the defense for a dribble drive. That's what Wafer and Brooks are doing, attacking seams. Ideally for me, with 2 guys like tracy and artest, I wouldve like to see wafer and green as backups playing like 17 mins each. Tracy and Ron starts, then wafer comes in for one, then green comes in for the other when tracy or ron returns. I would be really good to see 2 high energy, rim attacking wings behind the 2 half court types like tracy and ron.

    Leeb,

You know I agree with this.....I wanted to keep GG so bad......he is a free agent, maybe he can come back.

I still think we could use a PF in the Horry mode, where they can stroke the 3 ball, and finish above the rim...I would trade Landry for one if there is one available.

Von has been playing great. I couldn't understand why he wasn't taking Luther's minutes earlier. Von is more consistent and always seems to play with high energy. Plus he can take it to the basket.

The fact is TMAC makes 20 million and nobody is going to bench a player that is making that kind of cash. The Rockets have to keep playing Tmac and hope he can turn it around. I just hope when he does that they can work a deal when his stock is high. He is just too unpredictable for me.

that rim did play some nasty defense on him last night. :)

still, i love the energy he brings. he's constantly looking to drive the ball. a guy like that, with the more playing time he gets, he'll get more comfortable and he'll be able to finish more of those penetrations. a brightside to the t-mac debacle is wafer getting more time.

Well when everyone's healthy we could just stick Artest or Battier at the 4 since both have 3 pt range. I suspect a lineup of Brooks, Mac, Battier/Barry, Artest, and Yao would work well as we've seen before.

Found this on Ball Don't Lie. Sorry if its a repost.

    <object width="480" height="295"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/S6jXK0JdW0U&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/S6jXK0JdW0U&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="295"></embed></object>

Too bad they never mentioned how he redeemed himself the very next play with a three, and also made that crucial three at the end of the game... :(
