If Von continues to start and play like he is then you have to give him the MIP. Harris and Nelson were already on the Map...No one has even heard of Von Wafer before and for him to do what he is doing now is just magical. I don't think I have ever seen this type of turn around from absolutely nowhere to star and 1st or 2nd scoring option of a play off caliber team.
I don't think he will continue to start. Right or wrong, Adelman will probably stick with Battier in the starting lineup once McGrady returns.
You have to think that hte minutes he receives after they come back will affect his decision to resign with us. I guess also if Ron re-signs with us but the Rox has to consider an increased role in the rotation for him. He is awesome in the game tonight!!
von is a good player, that post game interview he admits he made alot of mistakes and is going to improve. as long as he continues to work hard hes going to be a good player
Von Wafer will get a 5 year deal at the end of this year. I guarantee it will be something that long term. The guy is 23 and has shown he can raise up and hit tough jumpshots, hits the open three, and has about as much heart on the court that you will find in a player. He has been averaging around 16 ppg in the last 10 or something like that. Im so impressed with the guy. Tracy Mcgrady is almost untradeable. The Rockets will want 22 million dollars worth of young talent for Mcgrady and they wont get it. He will be let go after his contract which will give the Rockets some serious salary cap space. Look for the Rockets to resign Artest to a 3 to 4 year deal at season's end as well.
I disagree, if he continues to show progress than at end of season sign him for a 2 to 3 year contract. As for Artest, if he gets a 4 year deal it will be at the MLE. Rockets arent going to use up their cap space in 2010 unless its for Yao and the big name players.
Well the guy that comes to mind is Kelena Azibuike, 3 years 9 million. I could see him signing a 2yr 4-6 million dollar deal with us.
Wafer really reminds me of Mad Max on the court. His defense isn't quite tenacious yet, but offensively, he can hit open shots, attack the basket better than Mad Max, moves well without the ball, and is deadly coming off screens. He is also a great athlete like Max was and he isn't afraid to take and make the last shot of a game. One thing he and Max both have in common is how they can score in a hurry. They are both very streaky. Today, we saw Wafer give us a great start, but in the 2nd half his shot was just off and they respected his drive. Hopefully he doesn't develop the off court problems like Mad Max did, but if he can play like him, that would be great. We need some fearless guys on our team.
What he said after the game was music to my ears. It shows that he's not letting these last few good games get to him. And that he will keep working hard, and will improve. He's going to be a real good player. Thank you Morey once again.
