I still have the cars-version of Voltron in the original (though very torn up and scribbled all over with potty humor) box. I wonder how much I could get for it on eBay?
There's no way that having kitty cats on your feet qualifies you as "pimp". "I'm coming to get you! Meow!"
One of my favorite shows on Cartoon Network is this show called Megas XLR. About a fat guy (Coop) who's really good at video games and his best friend(Jamie). They find a giant robot from the future in a junkyard and he replaces the head with a red mustang and he controls the robot with a steering wheel and a video game console controller. The show parodies giant robot shows and other similar stuff. Anyways, in one ep, because of all the destruction they cause when they save earth with Megas, a super hero team that's basically a cross of Voltron/Power Rangers and G-Force comes to earth to stop Coop. They don't realize he's a good guy. Their evil arch nemesis shows up and tries to team up with Coop as he is also confused. The bad guy is too strong for Megas to stop, and the hero team doesn't believe he's on their side, so he takes their robots and crams them onto Megas's arms (picture a robot shoving his arm up a lion robot's ass) and he puts the others on like boots and powers up. I wish I could just show you this sequence isntead of recanting it. It's obviously funnier if you see it yourself.
Fellas, fellas, please! Both Voltrons were equally good. The lion version was just... moreso. At least we can all agree that Voltron II, aka Gladiator Voltron, sucks. Look at this turd:
I myself enjoyed both series but have always preferred the cars just a bit more. Off topic, but Oski2005, cool first quote you've got there.
I like the Tiger Version. It was a good quality toy when it first came out. Better quality than the transformer toys which were pretty good when they hit the market. Kitty Voltron took that to the next level. You would have been lucky to have one. I was a tad old for Voltron tho. If you had Voltron the kids would all go over to your house.
I had mostly Transformers..but this was one of the holygrail's of toys I will say that the black tiger was pretty lame looking though
I think I had the smaller Voltron toy when I was little. It still had the five robots....but I think the real big version stoon well over a foot tall. I remember both versions, but I think I watched more of the vehicle version then the lion version. Maybe it was the earlier version....Im not quite sure.
Man... I loved this cartoon, remember back when I was a kid and I woke up early just to watch this show before I went to school. Wonder if it'd ever be on DVD...
Unfortunantly all places i looked they haven't released it on DVD and dont even konw if it ever will. http://www.animatedbliss.com/DVD/listings.asp?iName=Voltron
