    I am thinking Dion Glover.

Unless something better shows up on the waiver wire, I am betting on Dion. He is also expendible should a need arise later in the season that warrants the creation of a roster space. Dion could stick now moving forward and probably become another success story like Damon Jones, Skip, Elie, Avery, Bobby Simmons, etc. that took the long route to NBA stability. God knows he was the man at GTech and he had the promise to be considered a solid NBA pro.

    Baker's career as Rocket ends

The Rockets completed their buyout of the last season of Vin Baker's contract and waived the 12-year veteran forward Friday.

Baker reported for training camp Monday but left town before practice began.

Baker, acquired in a trade-deadline deal that sent Maurice Taylor to the Knicks, played in only three games last season. A former All-Star and Olympic gold medalist, he averaged 15.1 points and 7.5 rebounds with Milwaukee, Seattle, Boston, New York and the Rockets.

The really funny thing about this is that if Vin had been waived by another team, some idiot on this board would create a "Vin Baker anyone?" thread.

Great to free up a spot for someone more deserving.

I don't mean to stir up a hornet's nest but what about signing Malick Badiane and shipping him off to Austin for a year or two. At least we can get a true reading on his potential and the 15th slot isn't likely to play anyway, no matter who it is. If he is ever going to replace Deke as Yao's backup this is a question that has to be answered. I could see Head going with him ot Austin also. We have so many combo guards now I just can't see Glover being much use to us after camp is over. If we do need him I am sure he will still be willing to come aboard later on.
