It's pretty simple, I think. I don't actually own an iPod, but I do know that the iPod, Zune, and PSP all use MP4 for their movie formats, so download a program to convert WMV/MOV/MPEG/MPG to an MP4 and you will be just fine.

If you are dealing with unencrypted movie files (but that are still in the .VOB format) I use a program by Roxio called "Crunch". It works really well for iPod, Apple TV and iPhone. Obviously you need software to un-encrypt, but then once you have your VIDEO_TS folder, you're all set.

F*ck that sh*t. Never pay for a video-transferring program again: SUPERĀ© does EVERY EFFIN' format to every effin' format and back.

Use DVD Decrypter to rip the DVD... (RTFM)... then use Super to transfer the viggio to whatever format you want. I've ripped so many DVDs to my iPod for my girls to watch in the car it's not even funny anymore.

And, no, I won't post the link to SUPER (from erightsoft). Look for it, you obviously can read this on the InterWebs, so you can find Super in your favorite search engine.

The most simple methods can be found in programs that are "all-in-one" that do all the things for a specific task for you.

Lifehacker.com is a great site for finding programs like this. Just goto the website, in the search box put in, "Ipod DVD," and several articles will show up about different programs or methods for doing it.

The very first link showed this program:
    http://lifehacker.com/software/top/download-of-the-day-handbrake-all-platforms-254445.php

It even tells you that you have to download DVD43 to help rip DVD's witht the copyright stuff (with a link to the program).

Looks exactly what your looking for, and if it isnt, you have several other programs to look at from the search.
