Yeah man got that blood in me. Crazy thing is a couple of other cats that contribute to the site aren't even African but they keep up with some of the Africans in NCAA ball, Boxing, etc way more than I could ever do.

I disagree re. Oladipo being a goner or anything close to a 100% gone. Mainly because...his parents are Nigerian. If he's not a senior, he's gonna have to present a heckuva good case and plan to them as to why he needs to leave(being a lottery pick is a great reason), when and how he plans to get his degree(if he didn't get it in 3 years like Emeka Okafor), and crap like that.

As long as he remains a lottery pick consideration then it leans on the side of him leaving but he'll have work to do with his parents imo. His dad is not exactly a major Basketball fan/follower. His mom follows his games and attends but I don't think either are big time Bball fans.

Oladipo on the dunk at the end of regulation:

"No disrespect to Michigan," Oladipo said. "I apologize for that. I apologize to their players and coaching staff."

Victor is on track to finish his degree in 3 years.

Most IU players stay for the summer and take classes both summer sessions.

Cody Zeller, if he wants to go pro, has enough credits that in 2 years plus classes this summer and next, could graduate. His parents insisted that he get a degree

Combined with being considered a lottery pick? Then I guess A_3P0, Oladipo is off to the NBA after the season. A goner like you said.

I am impressed by his ability to fight the picks and stay in front of his man. Very impressive defensive efforts.

I hope maybe he stops soaring and saves the rest for the NBA, just enough to be available at number 14.

That's completely wrong. He most likely will win defensive player of the year. Tony Allen defense and with a better offensive game.. That's a lottery

    Victor Oladipo
    ESPN: (15)*Draft Express: (21)*NBADraft.net: (32)
·*Analysis:*ESPN.com draft guru Chad Ford has been leading the charge to promote Oladipo’s candidacy as a lottery pick and it’s hard to argue his point. The major hole in Oladipo’s game entering the season was his perimeter shot and he’s shooting 51.4 percent on threes as a junior. He’s also been ridiculously efficient on twos this season (67.8 percent) and his defense has also improved tremendously (5.1 steal percentage, 2.8 block percentage). His prowess as a lockdown defender was on full display Saturday night as Oladipo guarded four different Michigan players (Trey Burke, Nik Stauskas, Glenn Robinson III and Tim Hardaway Jr.) effectively in IU’s 81-73 win. Oladipo has shined all season on the biggest stages and as a result, his draft stock has skyrocketed.
·*Expert opinion: “Given his trajectory and Zeller’s fall, I don’t think it’s out of the question that Oladipo goes ahead of Zeller on draft night.” – ESPN.com’s Chad Ford

Before the Michigan game, I already thought Oladipo would be drafted ahead of Zeller. He has the tools (skillset, athleticism, drive and motor) to be a very good NBA player.

Oladipo enters player of the year talk in an ESPN straw poll.

    http://t.co/kUyZjcfm

Oladipo’s defensive ability goes back to his athleticism. On defense, it shows with his ability to shut down and close out opponents. On offense, it comes with his overall ability — and was on display during a missed alley-oop dunk against the Wolverines when he caught the ball one-handed in the air and just missed finishing it off.
The 6-foot-5 junior from Hyattsville, Md., has affected the game on offense, where he averages 14 points, and on defense, where he averages 5.8 rebounds and 2.5 steals.
“He can guard two actions at one time, the screen and the man, and it is rare you see that. His recovery time, because of his lateral quickness, is exceptional,” Michigan coach John Beilein said. “And there’s a lot of people who are very athletic like that, but they don’t want it like he does. He wants to be a good defender.
    “That makes a big difference.”

I didn't watch any of the game except for the last 20 seconds...

Indiana ball: Oladipo tries to go behind the back with the dribble and loses it off his foot with about 6 seconds... Illinois on the fastbreak, DJ Richardson makes a nice move and finds a wide open angle to the basket! Here comes Oladipo out of nowhere to swat it ten rows back.

Then Indiana proceeds to leave a guy wide open for a game winning layup with 0.9 seconds left.

This one stings for me. Indiana up 9 with 3:36 to play, up all game. I leave to pick up some Chinese food, walk in the door and see they blew it.

Let's hope it stings the players the rest of the year. That would be a good thing.

What's great is I can see him doing what he does at the next level.
