ok so this morning i wake up and my 13 week old puppy had been ran over, badly, his front right leg is shredded with the bone sticking out and barely hangin on by the skin... i immediatly rushed him to the nearest vet... so they are telling the leg is beyond repair and needs to be amputated... the problem is, is that they want 900-1000 dollars... unfortunatly i work fro barely over minimum wage and cant afford this... they take payment plans but they want half down... again cant afford this... i have been looking around all morning for something cheaper... i have gotten 5-600 a few times and the cheapest so far is 400... again the problem is that i cant afford this because they dont take payment plans... Does anybody know of a vet clinic that would let me make payment plans and not such a large down payment? if it meant keeping him alive, i would pay whatever as long as i could afford the down payment or what not...this is extremely difficult for me as it was my first pet i have paid and raised myself, he was essentially my first born child...
Sorry to hear that. My dog is like my kid as well. I googled, the don't have prices for amputations but this place seems cheap 713-692-5100 3004 Little York Rd Houston, TX 77093
i did... they stabalized him but want 1000(which i cant afford) for amputation.. they will take 500 down with payments but i dont have that neither, nor does it seem i can borrrow it...
thats actually who is the cheapest i found at 400... my problem is them and everybody wants it all up front... if i could find a place that would take 100-200 down with payments that i can do... i reallllllllly dont want to euphanize him....
no cc, parents dont have one neither... my family is pretty much dirt poor... i pay almost all my moms bills...
im lookin for someone who will take payments with a low down payment... ill gladly pay 1000 if i didnt have to pay so much down...
I'm sorry that's awful. Seriously, no credit card? Can you get one? That's the best you're going to do it seems. Edit: sorry, just saw your response.
going to sound like an a-hole, but if you can't afford to pay for his amputation you won't be able to afford his post operation costs. you work minimum wage and supporting your family. it's best for you to probably let the dog go. and this is coming from a dog owner.
you dont sound like an a-hole, you sound exactly like i would tell someone in my position... i started the day looking for the best and cheapest way to help him... and for about the last hour or two ive been tellin myself i have to kill him... this was my last ditch effort in hopes of finding something...
Take him to a no kill shelter. They may be able to provide necessary treatment for him. Tell them you cant afford vet care right now. There are no free vet clinics. The most they can do is set up a payment plan for you to pay them back.

You could try applying for care credit, which is low interest credit for medical bills: http://www.carecredit.com/vetmed/ or a personal loan from your bank. There are also some links for assistance on the Humane Society website: http://www.humanesociety.org/animals/resources/tips/trouble_affording_pet.html Unfortunately it sounds like this is a surgery that needs to be done asap and you can't really wait to apply to multiple sources, so a personal loan or care credit are probably the fastest in processing your application.
Man, that post hurt to read. You might consider getting a Pet Care credit card. Many vets support a financial company that will give you instant credit for pet care at vet in their network. You will pay 0% interest for a year.
