I think Najera is mexican. But most are not ready for the NBA and there is no harm letting them develop more.

Yes, we paid them cash for it. And the deal was set before they picked at #50. I don't see a reason for them not to do it if they know they want Flores and feel confident he'll be there at #55, or perhaps if they don't care who they get since a player picked that late will make no difference to their roster. Why not pick up some easy money?
Ha yeah and I actually enjoy having projects. It adds something extra to following basketball kind of like the fun of watching astros AAA prospects. I hope they get a real minor league system. That'd improve quality of play so much.
Just a question: Are these prospects not even good enough to get in the NBDL or do they just want them staying in Europe for a while? Because, having these guys play with more physical, more NBA-like players will help these guys adjust much faster.
that may be true, but i do know there is far more money in the European game than the NBDL which can affect where one wants to play. Euro players are reluctant to leave their familiar surroundings and healthy paychecks to come over to the NBDL where the pay is quite poor from what I have been told.
