Man, the Greece vs Argentina game turned out to be a very entertaining matchup. I'm glad Argentina won, though. I want to see the US play Argentina. I want to see some revenge for the Indianapolis loss. I know we whipped them by 30 last year, but I want to see it on the grand stage of the Olympics. What do you guys think about our chances?
I'll bet on it NOT being a double digit win or loss, it's not going to any easier against Argentina than it was against Spain and Lithuania. Who's going to step up like Marbury did? Are the US going to shot +50% from the 3 point stripe? I want to see a repeat of Lebron's 4th quarter against Australia... US 89 - Argentina 86
Argentina has only been shooting just as well as US at 3's. both are hovering around 29-30 % for 3's. So a lot of argentina's offense revolves if they can hit the open shot. Argentina not having a real good shot from outside definitely puts the ball in our court. US 85 ARG 71
hmm how aboot USA 90 Argentina 82 Duncan drops a double double with 20 points and 10 boards with starbury putting the dagger in late
It depends. If Argentina comes out playing zone defense. They can win. If they play man-to-man defense, they lose. Frankly Spain should have beaten Team USA, but they were arrogant enough to think they could play US style (Read NBA) basketball and win. Everyone else knows that you can beat Team USA by backing off into a zone defense and daring them to shoot from outside. If they hit the shots, oh well. But I hope USA does win. If they do, look for like a 85-82 game.
Is the game on the radio in Houston anywhere? What about a good website to follow it on? Either that, or you guys better keep this thread full of score updates!
Best website is http://www.nbcolympics.com/results/1549005/detail.html scroll down to todays game and click on the real time link when it opens in about an 45 mins.
USA will beat the crap out of Argentina. Only LTV will give US some headache because that team features way too many Brent Barrys who can stroke 3s from anywhere on the court, no matter how many hands you put in their faces.
