I had a package shipped on Tuesday from Il, coming to Htown, Tx. I need this by the 27th, its schedueled for the 26th. The thing is, everytime I track it on the UPS website, it tells me it hasnt made any progress since 4:09PM on the 21st. Im afraid it'll be too late for me. Think something is wrong with the UPS site? BTW, here is the tracking #: 1z5e8085 03 4087 0318
The situation you see is not unusual. I believe that tracking only occurs when it is unloaded/loaded at a station. It won't show that the truck is now in Oklahoma (for example) unless your package was unloaded there for loading onto another vehicle. Everytime I have ever had anything delivered via UPS, their website 'scheduled delivery date' was accurate.
I've had the same experience as bobrek. I think part of the reason they have changed the tracking is so terrorists can't use that information to explode a package when it's in transit.
i think also it might be sitting in a warehouse for this time, and then at the last minute, they ship it air?
I too have actually received packages before the system is updated... no idea what the deal is... I've also had one package that, according to their online tracking system, made it from point A, to B, to C, to D, went back to C... and just stayed there until it showed up at my door.
You can request to pick it up since it's in Houston already. https://wwwapps.ups.com/pickup/schedule?loc=en_US
Don't worry, it should be on time. I ordered my new PC case online weeks ago, UPS said it should arrive today. And when I track it last night it says it was at ohio yesterday, which worrys me a bit, but I did get my case this morning.
Yes. I say that because they have been able to track down a package for me where I had the same problem. They had the initial pickup on the status and that was it. I called them up and they said "well, it's on the truck for delivery for today". They weren't sure what the deal with the website was. The other aspect of it is that if you call them, they can at least know there is a problem and start looking into it as opposed to you sitting and waiting for a website to update. For all you know it could be stuck under a conveyor belt somewhere (I say that because I used to load trucks for RPS and packages used to fall of the conveyor belt and often out of sight if you didn't look).
