I didn't really watch the games at the end of the season, because it seemed like we would lose most of them...

    So is Richie Frahm good?

Dikembe do well this past season?

    Is Bob Sura coming back?

Rafer Alston a good point guard for the Rockets?

Swift a good PF for us?

    Did Lampe ever play?

I like Alston and Sura at point guard. I like Wesley, but I think we should find a replacement..or have Wesley as a backup..and we also have Head and this Frahm guy.
    Tmac and Bogans and Bowen.
I think we need a better power forward..someone who is quick and who can rebound and score inside..an Elton Brand type..I still like Howard and Swift.
Yao and Deke of course at center.

Rafer Alston a good point guard for the Rockets? I think so, just needs a healthy team

Also, why didn't Jon Barry play much? Conflicts? Or just injuries?

How is it that you have an opinion on Rafer, but haven't seen Swift enough to decide?

So is Richie Frahm good? Pass.

Dikembe do well this past season? Still the best backup center in the league to play 8-10 mins/game.

Is Bob Sura coming back? We can only hope so.

Rafer Alston a good point guard for the Rockets? He can be one if both of our stars are healthy.

Swift a good PF for us? In my opinion he didnt play enough to make a judgement.

Did Lampe ever play? Yes but barely.

There is a guy that backs up Shaq in Miami you know with the name Mourning, I'll take him as my backup center.

I think Sura is coming back I have run into him in midtown and he said to me he thinks he will be fine I guess we will see.

Frahm. Showed that he has potential but only as a tail ender!

Mutombo is almpost burnt out and should retire or become the Rockets Big Man's Coach instead of Ewing.

Sura now too old and fragile, has great spirt and good for a retro team only.
In his last year he should be traded.

Rafer Alston plays the Point good enough to be a 'back up' on a Championship Contender. In my books he refuses to pass to Yao Ming on too many occasions.
He is still an asset for the Rockets.

Swift How can professional Management make such a mistake! Swift shows that most times he has no idea of positioning within the game and makes many mistakes in all departments of the game.
    A asset to be traded.

Under JVG Lampe got very little playing time or from what I can see little help from our Coaching Staff. It looked like he was considered as a temporary player.
Lampe has potential but requires serious developmental coaching.

    So is Richie Frahm good?
Unclear, he did not get that much of a look though he did have a couple of nice dunks and a good looking release on his 3pt shot, but he got hurt and did not get a chance to get completely comfortable.

Dikembe do well this past season? -
Not really, he looked ok, but only as a minor backup, he played less minutes per game as Yao got better, that will probably continue into next year too.

Is Bob Sura coming back? -
Mixed reviews, I have heard rumors that he was done that every time he works out his knee swells and it is bone on bone, but then others say it take a year or more to recover from the surgery he had (Microfracture?) so we will know in training camp.

Rafer Alston a good point guard for the Rockets?
Not no, but HECK no !! The guy can't shoot, he can distribute well enough bue he got so many open looks and he stamped Acme on the ball every time he bricked another one up.

Swift a good PF for us? -
unclear, he was great when motivated, but that was so infrequent, he was kind of like a women's period, only on for about 5 days a month.

    Did Lampe ever play? -
really, and it looks like he is really a bust, but he will have training camp too.

I think Mourning would be a better option if the backup center has to play major minutes. But for 8-10 mins/game, I have no problem to go with Mutombo. May be I am more optimistic that Yao will be healthy and play the bulk of the minutes for the whole season. :)

You know, the more we talk about talent (or lack thereof), the more depressed I get about the Rockets. We really need more talent on this team. When you look at the likes of the top teams in the NBA, most have good talent off and on the bench. And it's REALLY frustrating seeing Dallas develop a bunch of "nobody's" (in Harris, Howard, Daniels, and somewhat Diop) from their drafts to really solid players. Why can't Houston have this luck?

We have some major holes to fill in our starting rotation, but we also need help on our bench. I'm gung-ho, but honestly, if we don't improve the talent level, I find it hard that we'll truly "compete" with the big dogs any time soon.

And don't go off on the "injuries" excuse, either. I know that made a difference in our season. But we're not going to compete without more talent. End of story.

Ok, sorry. I know that wasn't directly related to the thread, but some of the names mentioned here just made me think.

I completely agree, I am utterly amazed at how many defenders this guy has. Distribution is important, but when a PG can't shoot, that is a huge liability. It becomes even worse when ever PG in the league runs through him like he is not there. The James-Alston trade may go down as one of the worst in Rocket's history, and considering how many stupid trades this team has made, that is something.

That is the stuppidest thing i have ever heard do you realize we traded away richard jefferson and mike james might have had 3 good years after we traded him jefferson had a career and the difference between James and Rafer is not that great James is not a good fit at starting pg for this team Rafer is.

    ps. so is maggette
