When I stated Rockets could easily go 0-12, my indication was that either one of those games could be a loss and 0-12 poised the worst case scenario (disaster). The likelihood of that happening, as I also stated, is "highly unlikely" with worst case "6-6" (mean), but optimistically better! Thinking the Rockets will go 12-0 (optimal) in that stretch is best case scenario and statistically speaking, highly unlikely. I like 8-4 or 9-3. The win against Celtics puts the barometer over the mean but again in that same stretch, Warriors schedule is a cake walk.
No doubt. In a thread earlier this year about which team do you fear the most? I said Pelicans. Cousins is a tough matchup for the Rockets A Davis is a tough matchup for the Rockets Add both together.... They proceeded to beat us for that 1 win (vs Capela/Harden/CP3... 32-1) I just think Ryan can handle Mirotic better than Davis as PF. Not saying it will be an easy win. Just that it should be a win. Davis is taking charge and playing like Westbrook last year. So if the Rockets triple team Davis? Can we get by?
In that Jan 28th meeting: Davis: 27 pts, 11 rebs, 5 asts (Cousins was 15 pts, 13 rebs, 11 asts) Going back just to last year (16/17): Anthony Davis per basketball-reference.com 12/16/16: 19 pts, 5 rebs, 3 ast, 0 stl, 0 blks 02/23/17: 29 pts, 9 rebs, 1 ast, 2 stls, 2 blks 03/17/17: 24 pts, 15 rebs, 3 asts, 1 stl, 3 blks 03/24/17: 33 pts, 16 rebs, 1 ast, 3 stls, 1 blk Avg: 26.3 pts, 11.3 rebs, 2 asts, 1.5 stls, 1.5 blks It’s not just about Davis being a problem for the Rockets. Davis is a top tier player. Pretty much recognized as such league wide.
This has been his breakthrough season. We should be able to get past the Pelicans, if we bring our A game.
Easily go 0-12? What kind of troll thread is this? Smh, some of y’all aren’t even trying with these threads anymore.
Eh, as long as the games are spaced out and the team has their legs and their arent' any crazy b2b cross country trips we should be fine. We can beat any team on any given night, it doesn't then matter if we have to play those teams 3 or 4x in a row, it matters though if they are b2b.
Yes. First game this season: Dec 11, Cousins (without Davis): 24 pts, 14 rebs, 8 asts, +11 (+/-).....Rockets won. Anyone ever see the movie, “The Ghosts in the Darkness” Michael Douglas (Remington) character talks about, “bully in his hometown. He would terrorize everybody. But he wasn’t the problem. He had a brother who was worse than him. He wasn’t the problem, either. One or the other was always in jail. Problem was when they are together. Alone they were just bullies, but together....they were lethal.” Davis (14-15) 12/18/14: 30 pts, 14 rebs, 3 asts, 2 stls, 5 blks 01/02/15: 7 pts, 8 rebs, 3 asts, 2 stls, 3 blks 03/25/15: 24 pts, 14 rebs, 1 ast, 3 stls, 3 blks 04/12/15: 27 pts, 7 rebs, 4 asts, 2 stls, 1 blk Davis (15-16) 12/02/15: 29 pts, 13 rebs, 1 ast, 2 stls, 2 blks 12/26/15: 24 pts, 13 rebs, 2 asts, 0 stls, 3 blks 1/25/16: 9 pts, 6 rebs, 1 ast, 2 stls, 0 blks (19 mins....injured) 03/02/16: 12 pts, 8 rebs, 3 asts, 2 stls, 1 blk I agree Saleem. Rockets should win. Just, how much of a factor Mirotic plays. Ryan should be able handle him.
Next two weeks will likely decide the number 1 seed. Houston can lose at most 2 more games this year I think to get the 1 seed as I don't think GS will lose more than 1 the rest of the way. They are on a mission to close strong and have a soft schedule. Pretty much their toughest game is a road game in Portland
Next 9 games: Tue, Mar 6 @Oklahoma City 8:00 PM [fighting for playoff] Wed, Mar 7 @Milwaukee 8:00 PM [b2b away game vs. team fighting for playoff seeding] Fri, Mar 9 @toronto 7:30 PM [contender] Sun, Mar 11 @Dallas 7:00 PM Mon, Mar 12 vs San Antonio 8:00 PM [b2b home game vs. team fighting for playoff seeding] Thu, Mar 15 vs LA 8:00 PM Sat, Mar 17 @ New Orleans 7:00 PM [fighting for playoff seeding] Sun, Mar 18 @ Minnesota 7:00 PM [another b2b away game vs. team fighting for playoff seeding; prior years I'd been worried about possibly seeing news that Harden stayed behind in NOLA after the game....] Tue, Mar 20 @ Portland 10:30 PM [fighting for playoff seeding] I'd be happy emerging from this death row with a 6-3 record (and thrilled with anything better).
