What was the situation? Because if it was no one on , then I can believe that. He's had a pretty solid year.

Torres has an ERA in the 2's and many more saves than blown saves. I think you could make a much better case that the Reds got lucky to beat him two nights ago than you could that Milwaukee got lucky not blowing a save today.

I think you could make a better case that David Weathers was garbage today and that Keppinger's error was a costly one.

When did I say anything about the game result? I thought I made it clear that I was referring to him striking out the side. Torres is a decent reliever, but historically, he throws to contact and isn't at all an overpowering guy. His K/9 for both this season as well as his career is 5.7. I'd say that makes it fairly rare for three consecutive batters to be unable to make contact against him.

Just checked back in. My jinx on Sabathia was wasted. Should of known it was a bad idea to throw in Weathers with Hurricane Ike brewing in the Gulf and headed towards Houston. Bad combo. Weathers sucks  .

On a brighter note, Moehler is pitching tonight and my tooth kind of hurts. Could be a good sign ;) .

Sorry - you said the Brewers were the luckiest team ever. Unless you expected Torres to blow the save, what does it matter if he struck out the side or just got three flyball outs? Would they be less lucky in that scenario? Pitchers strike out the side here and there. Torres has done it before and he'll do it again. I don't see how it makes them lucky that he did that today?

I hear that there was a big group of Astros watching the Brewers game on TV in the clubhouse. They hadn't done that all year until today. Time to put that disappointment out of their heads and take care of what is under their control.

I was just going off what Zach Levine of the Chron wrote. Maybe, he meant before games? Not sure.
