I have IExplorer for Windows XP and I am having serious problems with it. I think it may be corrupted somehow. It constantly goes through 30-40 second periods where it stops responding entirely...even when doing something as mundane as typing in and attempting to go to a new URL address. When I click on some links, it will freeze for a minute, and then the link will never end up opening. Also, I am constantly getting an error message saying that the pages I am viewing may not display properly and have errors on them...half the time I believe this to be simply not true as they are very common websites.

Any ideas on what to do?

I was thinking of uninstalling the program entirely and then reinstalling it. I'm not sure how to do this though...I think Iexplorer is integral to my windows operating system and I'm not sure what would happen to my PC even if I knew how to uninstall it. Anyone please help!

Add/Remove Programs has a repair option for IE. I would try that first.

Try a virus scan and an ad aware scan.

Avant Browser is AWESOME, like Opera and IE put together, plus it has its own popup blocker. Everybody that I recommended it to, they ended up loving it.

My IE sometime simply collapse when I was visiting some websites, especially the ones with JAVA scripts, and it asked a message, "Do you want to send out an error report to microsoft.com?"

    Very annoying.

If all else fails after you use the repair option, look for a utility called "Hijackthis." It is the roto-rooter of computer programs and will clean out every single bit of crap ****ing up your computer, like those goddamned trojans, redirectors (I had one on my computer for weeks that kept redirecting it to p*rn! ) and other things that sites can implant on your machine like little tattle-tales. I've got a firewall and all the goodies now.
