Someone made a thread about the black uni's a while back. I remember somebody posting that the Rockets requested for that Black Jersey but the League said no because so many teams already have/had/requesting a black jersey. And our third color (silver) definitely isn't becoming our jerseys main color. Remember how long the Dallas and New Jersey silver jerseys lasted?
even if the NBA rejected our request for a black jersey, why didnt we just come up with something else? I just want to see an alternate jersey

That's different. They've had black Jersey's for forever. It's like a grandfather clause. The Spurs and Sixers are the only teams that have primary black jerseys right now. Wolves and Magic are mostly blue and the Heat are mostly red. A lot of people think the league is saying no to black because of the "thug" imagery that the execs think it promotes. I don't think they would care if a lot of teams had requests for black alternates. It's not like teams wear them that often. Besides, they would sell like hell. I would buy one. I think the classic Pistons unis look the nicest throwbacks. The Rockets ones are a little too simple. If we hadn't won those 2 titles, i'm not sure people would be too attached to them. At the time, they were made fun of as being the "Mustard and Ketchup" unis. I think our current uniforms are Amazing and classy. They are not flashy yet they have charisma. They are to today what the pistons unis were to the 80s. I love the logo too. It's distinct and simple. I think people can get lost in all the crap in most logos and overtime they will instantly recognize the bleeding R.
If black is out, then I think the Rockets should follow the scheme of the Ohio Stae Buckeye jerseys. The ones used this past year with Greg Oden. Their gray alternate isn't bad at all. The Rockets should follow that scheme. Even Ohio State's regular home and away jerseys look nice.
How many teams DON'T have their city name on their ROAD jerseys like the Rockets? Still chaps me that our road jerseys don't say HOUSTON on them.
Well I agree. At home jerseys that should be "Rockets" and on the road "Houston" But it really does not matter
I REALLY like our uniforms. I think they are some of the best in the league. I like how they are simple and sleek. I like that they brought back the Rocket Red. I like our simple logo. Our McDonalds uniforms sucked. Terrible color combination. Other than the fact we just happened to win 2 championships while we wore them, I dont see the fascination. I just want to see an Alternate brought into the mix. And clearly that Black/Red one is where they should go. That would be tight!
Aren't the current Bulls and Lakers road jerseys still say their team name? They can solve the problem by just putting "Houston" on the Black/Red alternates.
I definetly do not like our red unis. the classic red and yellow from 2 years ago was awesome. I wish we wore it like Boozer suggested that Utah wear there baby blue color in game 7 to change the luck.

I agree with the posters who say black and red with a red Houston and red trim would be bad ass!!!!!! IMO, our logo is timeless not trendy and our uni's are simple yet original I like it!
