Now that you know how our new logo looks, what are your expectations with the new uniforms? Considering the source of our designer (Dracula & The Cell) Im predicting blood stains and rips. And yes..... Im freaking scared to even think about it.
all i know is that logo is super STUPID. I don't know why it looks so much like the Quake logo. I don't expect our uniforms to be any more original, much less better.
Come on! What do you all expect? I mean you know...I think the logo is simple and classy and trendy...Once the uniform is all put together it will all come together. With the Black, Red, Silver and White...it will be a nice classy trendy look.
i think the unis will be red with silver trim...our logo will be smack dab in the middle like Univ of Miami bball jerseys.
I read that Tim said on 610 that they will be made from the same material that the Warrior's jerseys are made from.
If teh new uniforms look like teh Maimi ones, I'd have no problem with that; as long as the logo doesn't dominate the front of the jersey. But alas I think that our new logo is to tall to make that style of jersey work. Hopefully the new jerseys will rock, and also be nothing like the rest of the NBA.
I voted Texas Chainsaw Massacare for the simple reason (being a marketing consultant) it's going to be a tough sell to youth groups and businesses alike. The streaks coming from the "R" do look like blood dripping. I think you might even get a couple of area ministers saying something to the effect that it appears satanic. I'm also not too enthusiastic about the use of silver (even calling it platinum). Why? Because silver is for second place, gold is reserved for the champions. While I liked the retro look, I do agree that the yellow made it look like ketchup and mustard. When I was a kid, I hated it because I felt like I was rooting for the McDonald's Allstars. I loved the colors once we won two championships. However, changing the yellow to a metaltic gold would modernize the look while keeping ties to the old. I feel sorry for Tim. I think he must have headed up a major effort to bring a new look to the team along with other front office personnel and by the owner himself. They probably put in countless hours and to get this reaction must be heartbreaking. I've been there and felt that disapointment when clients told me to take a flying leap. I also think one of two things are going to happen. (1) They'll stick to plans because it's too late to change, or (2) They made alternative plans that are in the process of being put into place. I think Mr. Alexander is a good owner and has made sound decisions in the past. When he's blown it (i.e. Calvin Murphy firing) he has quickly made amends. I hope they have something in the works, even making a subtle change to this logo like tilting it to the left or at least tonning down the dripping blood.
I figure that our jersey will look alot like the Lakers, Mavericks, Heat.... etc, and our logo is a huge clue. It is a perfect logo to be placed on the back of our jersey. The home ones will say Rockets, and the road ones will say Houston. There will be some sort of stripe design along the sides of the jersey which will show off the platinum and some other color.
I was screwing around this morning and came up with this: I originally did it without pinstripes (for obvious reasons), but they I thought they looked alot better with them (kind of like the Pacers).
They already stated in the paper under Barons article that there wont be pinstripes and it'd be Red and Silver. I like what Codell has there, that could be good without the stripes. I voted other cuz I'm just really scared - I got a feeling they'll do a good job but there's a lot of potential for them to screw it up. On another issue. I saw the picture of the red hat in the Chronicle. That logo justs looks bad on it
