Let's see if this works...real simple, just a variety of different color schemes

I'm with Vengeance. Houstone had some good ones though with the old logo in there.

Anyone notice how the Supersonics and Pistons both went back to their old style this year after experimenting with crap like the Rockets did? I hope we follow their lead.

Actually, Freak, that's not totally true. Check out their progression here...

    http://www.nba.com/sonics/history/evolution_logo_name.html

The Sonics logo we all remember (well, those older of us in the group) is the one they used up until 1995 with that skyline thing. Their last logo looked more like the original than this one does. No space needle on this one though it was featured prominantly in both of the last two logos.

As for the Rockets, I'm cool with them dumping the logo. I am even good with the red, but I just cannot stand to look at that gold color. I thought it was hideous originally and I think it would be worse now.

I agree with jeff. I want to add that the current typeface/font needs to go. It looks really cartoonish. We need to go to a more block-style simple typeface/font.

Well Jeff, I guess I was mainly referring to the colors. As it states on that page:

The revised official colors signal a return to the green and gold color scheme that represented the team in its inaugural 1967 season and during the 1979 NBA championship campaign.

I don't understand the logic in completely changing a team's colors and logo. The team colors/logo are what fans identify with...it's harder to identify with a team when the uniforms and colors are always changing (what color are the Astros' uniforms this week?). Can you imagine if the Dodgers or Yankees got new logos/uniforms? That would suck. In the NBA, gimme the Celtic, Lakers, Blazers, and Spur uniforms -- tradition is what I like.

I totally agree with Freak. I really don't like the idea of changing logos too much. To me, when a franchise changes logos and color schemes, it makes them look like theyre desperate for change. The most successful franchises rarely change logos and are easy to identify and this is true everywhere not just in sports. I agree that the typeface cound be more traditional but I can live with them. I think our current typeface looks really agressive which kinda fits with the word "Rockets". just my 2 pesos.

I agree, witch leads me to ask, why are you guys spending so much time editing the color of the current font. It's gonna be gone anyway. looks like a waste of time to me. Focus more on creating a new font because the Rockets are definitely gonna change that.
