Just move to Minnesota. From my brief experience everyone was really nice like Texas, almost as liberal as canada, with all the benefits of America.

If the world follows the pattern of the fall of Rome and you are correct then we are all in big trouble. Everywhere that Rome had significant influence went into the Dark Ages for 500-1000 years. Considering the reach of American influece, the fall of America would lead to a very dark period in the history of the world.

I've lived across the globe. I've suffered racism and xenophobia at a lot of places I've lived in.

I've realized that if you generally if you can't relate well to others, you can't relate well to yourself.

You don't know what you really want. You just want something else. Get to know the real person you are and observe your thoughts and actions when dealing with other people.

People treat you the way you treat them. If you treat them like crap, you'll probably get the same reaction from them.

So put a smile on your face tommorrow, and see how the world opens up to you. :)

Good post and one that is not sarcastic (for a change :p ). I'll just add that a big question to ask yourself, jiseng, is this: do you truly love yourself? It is a serious question because if you can't love yourself, you will NEVER be happy and you will always look to criticize.

Don't mistake that Minnesota is as cold as Canada as being as liberal. Considering we have a conservative Republican Governor and Senator and that Kerry only won the state by less than 5% the Minnesota of Walter Mondale doesn't really exists. Especially since Mondale lost the senate election to Norm Coleman even though he had pretty much everything going to him, sympathy over Wellstone's death and his own legacy. The people of MN still rejected his style of old guard liberalism.

Not exactly. In Europe they did but not in the part that became the Byzantium Empire and after the fall of that Empire the Middle East flowered for several hundred years after that.

Sexual intercourse plays a major role in Bonobo society, being used as a greeting, a means of conflict resolution and post-conflict reconciliation, and as favors traded by the females in exchange for food. Bonobos are the only non-human apes to have been observed engaging in all of the following sexual activities: tongue kissing, face-to-face vaginal intercourse, oral sex, genital rubbing between females, and "frottage" between males. This happens within the immediate family as well as outside of it. Bonobos do not form permanent relationships with partners.

The answer of course is New Zealand.

Isolated, modern, prosperous, underpopulated, beautiful, summer sports and winter sports, democratic and slightly liberal, pluralistc and sensitive to the native population, English speaking, out of range for a nuclear winter, off the radar for extremist, excellent wine, good golf courses...what else is there?

    Oh yeah, no football....I'm out.

I wanted to move there, Dubious, after Reagan was elected. I thought it was the "end of the world as we know it," and although it wasn't good for the country, in my opinion, Bush had managed to make Ronnie's days looked damned bucolic and civilized. Time can do wonders.

Couldn't get the wife to move to New Zealand, so we moved to Austin instead. Our liberal Texas enclave.
New Zealand still looks damned good.

    jisangNY1,

Just few things to help you out dude...

    1. Turn of the news, CNN, PBS and any other paid for news source. Most of them are liberal minded and have a seeminly communist agenda.

    2. Don't be so nieve to think that things are different in other countries. Have you ever seen the house of commons in England? Do you think that governments in european or asian countries are any different? Shoot I just got back from a two week vacation in the Philippines and China and let me tell you friend there is nothing like America. The Philippines has a very corrupt government, just ask anybody who lives there. And China (Beijing) felt like I was being watched like a hawk..come to find out I was by all the CCTV cameras on the poles....LOL I also would like to point out the huge tax burden that is laiden in other counties for "public" heath care...what a joke.

    3. How about become active in your own community to make positive changes rather then tucking tale and running and hiding? hmmmmm...thats what this country was founded on if you didn't already know.

    4. What most people see about America in other countries is fed to them through sound bites on CNN (communist news network) and the local papers who get their news through the AP and CNN. So there is no wonder they might be a little negative, hell I would be to if I watched that crap everyday.

    5. Things in this country are not as bad as the news media would like you to believe. They have an agenda to instill fear, uncertainty and doubt into your head so you will give up more of your rights to the federal government. Communists like big government and hate freedom of choice which is something that has been slowly erroding here in the US since the 1960's.

Anyway....the beautiful thing about this country is that you can become a self made man and CHOOSE your own path. You cannot say that in most other counties. Are you aware that citizens in Holland are required to join the military at age 18? And its mandatory service...

In short good luck to you in which ever path you choose.....but be sure and choose wisely and not because of emotion and fear, but because it is the right choice to make.

AcesHigh, I'm not a liberal by far I used to consider myself an old style conservative also known as Paleo-conservatives by some. This form of conservativism and its followers despise the present Bush and Neo-con administration. I also despise the extreme far left in this country. In reality, I would say I'm a moderate that leans slightly to the right. Since I hate the present Republican party because its been highjacked by the imperialist/fascist Neo-Cons, I voted for the Libertarian Party in the last election.

New Zealand or Iceland would be the route I take, no one will bother you there, you will feel completely isolated from the rest of the world (can have its benefits at times).

Seriously though, just go live somewhere in the middle of nowhere in this vast land of ours we call America and isolate yourself...or start your own small town and become it's sheriff.
