I used to think these shirts were just for muscular douchebags, but I recently bought a black one to wear under the shirt I wear when I play because I heard they keep you from getting hot. MAN, is it comfortable. The fabric really does breath (it doesn't even feel like you have a shirt on) and they do a nice job of tightening up the the love handles/man-boobs etc. It was so comfortable that I went and bought 5 white ones and I now wear them under my shirts at work instead of cotton undershirts. They are $25/per shirt, but totally worth it - and I am a notorious tightwad. Anyone else wear these? FYI, I would never wear one without a shirt over it. I don't want to be "that guy", forget about the fact that I don't have the bod to pull it off anyway.....
I've been wearing them under my gi when I go to aikido for a few years now. I have one suit for cold weather (it's thicker) and one for hot weather. I swear by both of them naturally, as does anyone I know who has ever used them. anywho, yeah if you like the shirts...you should definitely try the pants. you can actually get them for a lot cheaper if you're in houston. there's an outlet mall off of 290 that just opened up that has an underarmour store. great deals there.
Yeah I like the stuff. Nike stuff actually looks a little nicer. But I have both brands. I have some RBK stuff as well and they all get the job done. Only drawback is I have to hang mine up because they never stay folded in a drawer.
GEORGE: The uniforms! Did you see how they played? Listen to these comments! (reads from the paper) "Wade Boggs: 'What a fabric! Finally we can breathe.' Luis Palonia: 'Cotton is king.' Paul O'Neill: 'I never dreamed anything could be so soft and fluffy.' "
Are smart wool shirts worth the money? I bought some Champion undershirts last winter and really liked them (my only complaint is that they absorb odors), I read about the smart wool shirts and thought about getting one to try but they're kind of expensive.
another good brand is Icebreaker from new zealand and i bought one when i was there in dec 2006 but i saw them at whole earth provisions on shepherd too. they are great and odor absorbing.
If you are a fan of Under Armour, check out the outlet in the new Houston outlets on 290. Great deals there.
You can also get the Nike Dri-fit which is basically the same thing. They're 11 bucks at the outlet mall.
way overpriced but good quality. I have an UA jacket that is waterproof and windproof. Looks thin but that sucker is warm and wind does not hurt you a bit.
^ Agreed...I have one and a couple of knock offs which are good...Only for working out, not for undershirts...
The only downside is how expensive it is. I bought a thick long sleeve for snowboarding and it ccost me $75.
i would purchase under armour, but i need to find some armor to wear over it....otherwise i'll look ridiculous.
The natural fabric is more expensive but it doesn't absorb odor as bad as synthetic. I really like smartwool base layers for cold weather since I prefer the comfort of wool when I have heavier layers over it. Patagonia also makes some great base layers but are a little hard to catch on sale.
i use it as an undershirt, and then i wear a white t and then i wear the outside shirt. i have both UA and Nike DriFit. I have two black sleeveless one, and a white one that fits real real tight. It's the look at my nipples one. I still look skinny as hell in them. I have a long sleeve turtle neck dri fit, and then one UA sleeveless loose fitting one. I like em.
Have been utilizing UA gear for years, wear them under everything, especially when working out. I also have the skully, it adds to my 'badness' factor I have a Nike Dri-Fit, not nearly as good/comfortable IMO, and a little on the heavier side. UA is the best brand for workout gear, bar none.
Anywhere. Under Armor is trying to protect its brand so it does not allow anywhere to put an item on sale until the season is over. I went tot he outlet in San Marcos and it was crap. I have not been to the Houston one. Honestly, go to Marshall's (like the Galleria one or the one on Gray) and look around. The carry the "drifit" stuff from UA, Nike, Adidias, New Balance, RBK, and lots of smaller brands. That is the cheapest I have seen it.
