    My wife's name came up as being owed $0.00 in "Underlying Shares" in a company she used to work for. Any of you stock market types want to tell me what that means?

    Well turns out the family knew 'bout the cash.

    They were informed about 3 weeks ago and decided to give it to Baylor (College of Medicine).

    What they didn't realize is that in order to do that you must pay state tax on it.

    Soooo....

    Not only did we not claim the $1700, the state is actually charging us, lol.

    It's kind of funny really. Maybe there will be a write-off or something, which makes me wonder...

    Kramer : It's just a write off for them .

    Jerry : How is it a write off ?

    Kramer : They just write it off .

    Jerry : Write it off what ?

    Kramer : Jerry all these big companies they write off everything

    Jerry : You don't even know what a write off is .

    Kramer : Do you ?

    Jerry : No . I don't .

    Kramer : But they do and they are the ones writing it off .

    Jerry : I wish I just had the last twenty seconds of my life back .

    really??? state tax on unclaimed property?? that makes zero sense at all. this is not income...it's lost property.
