I wouldn’t be surprised if training for f-16s hasn’t been going on since last year

If we send maintenance crews to go with the F-22s, the Ukrainians will be flying in a month.

Hard Pass. I wouldn't want our F-22s to get lost over there.

We don't even sell those to our best friends.

I think the F22 production lines have all been shut down perminantly.

They'd have to pull them from limited existing American stocks.

This will be unpopular opinion but biden giving ukraine f16s will backfire on the west. In the heat of the moment people do dumb ****. If you've studied war you would know what I mean. With Russias back to the wall now isn't the time to provoke them more. Biden can't afford to have this war spill over in 2024 or else trump might win.

Agree to disagree but bad move by biden.

I don't get why you think this - support for Ukraine is like 60-70%. Only a majority of Republicans (@Commodore @Space Ghost ) and a few dead end Tulsi gabbard type tankies oppose it and are open Putinists.

I never said any such thing, if you look back at what I posted. I merely pointed out some thoughts (that you obviously never read) from professional people about why less-than-modern F16's might not be a good idea in the current environment.

Also, please don't @me ever again in your @games you like to play with people. Cheers.

Yea.. it's not complicated. Iraq shot down 3 F-16s in Desert Storm. 2 more were shot down in Kosovo/Bosnia. Russia has much more advanced anti-air systems. It doesn't sound like Ukraine will be getting the most modern F-16 systems and weapons which still wouldn't compete with the S400 system.

I replied to you at the time, noting you, and they, were making the wrong argument. the Ukrainians have proved extraordinarily adept at adapting western weapons to their purposes. If they want F16s, I trust there's a good reason, and they will be put to good use.

and if they'd had them earlier, many more Ukrainian civilians might still be alive today.

How do F16s protect Ukrainian civilians?

    I honestly don’t know.
