UFC 69: APRIL 7, 2007 IN HOUSTON, TEXAS The fight card is not yet known, but UFC 69 is now scheduled to take place on April 7th in Houston, Texas. This event was originally scheduled to take place in Montreal, Canada. Link
Crocop fights Feb 3, and then will probably fight Tim Sylvia after that, but I think Sylvia is fighting Brandon Vera in March, so they won't fight a month later. It could be Rampage vs Chuck. Chuck just beat Tito, and Rampage fights also on that Feb 3rd card, so that would be two months later.
This real. MMAweekly is a very reputable sight. UFC is wanting to branch out las vegas and LA. This card was supposed to be in Canada, but that fell through. UFC 58 is going to be in Ohio.
http://blogs.chron.com/fighting/ UFC Houston-bound, finally UFC's Marc Ratner confirmed to the Chronicle that the promotion is in late-stage discussions to bring UFC 69 to Houston in April. No word yet on the main event, but with champions Tim Sylvia, Anderson Silva and Georges St. Pierre all scheduled to fight in February or March, it seems unlikely that we'll see a title bout involving those fighters. Count out Sean Sherk, as well. ..... UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre has been scrapped from the UFC 67 show Feb. 3 in Las Vegas due to a knee injury. GSP sustained the injury during a training session for his first title defense, which was to come against Matt Serra. It's the second time in less than a year the Canadian champ has been forced from a bout. A groin injury took him out of a rematch with Matt Hughes at UFC 62 in September. UFC 67's loss may be UFC 69's gain. Presuming he recovers in time, the next logical spot for St. Pierre would be 69, which is expected to be held in Houston April 7 at Toyota Center. The rest of the 67 card, which includes the UFC middleweight title bout between Anderson Silva and Travis Lutter, as well as the UFC debuts of Quinton "Rampage" Jackson and Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic remains intact. ... Freakin awesome. I'm going - hope to somehow see St. Pierre, Rampage or Cro Cop. I thought I would have to go to Vegas to see UFC, now I can just drive down the street.
What do the tickets normally go for? Live would be cool, unless you're stuck in a closet in the farthest spot of the arena. In the past, I would do pay-per-view and split the cost with a few friends, but seeing that this is a local event, I'm intrigued.
FYI - I went to a UFC fight about 10 years ago in Lake Charles and it was quite an event. Fights were breaking out all over in the stands as well as in the halls. If you're going you should probably do some training in case you have to break out into fisticuffs.
I go to the local Renegades MMA shows and have waited a long time for a bigger MMA show. This makes me very happy and I will be there. I would give anything to see Mirko fight here. I know it won't happen but I could go for Rampage vs. Chuck on that card too.
