What is your quickest typing speed? In junior high school I remember my average was 50-60 words per minute but I know that I have improved greatly since then. Most people I know average around 80 wpm. My mom can get up to 120 wpm  but she average around 105 wpm. Anybody know of any online typing tests or cheap typing tests you can purchase? What's your typing speed?

Thanks for the test link, I only got about 70-80wpm, too. The test is kinda weird in that punctuation mistakes are permanent and if you are off by one space, the error accumulates and you have to start typing the word the test wants you to type, not where you are.

According to that test, I type 39 WPM -- not bad considering I only use three fingers.

No need for me to take this test. Since I use a third fewer fingers than Mrs. JB, I should be typing about 26 wpm.

Edit: Actually took the test and got 31 words per minute. Wow.

76wpm, slightly higher if you don't account for errors. About what I expected, I guess.

Hey me too and I think I type pretty fast. I've evolved from a two finger approach.

    3 fingers - 40WPM. :D

83 WPM, probably would have been higher if I didn't speed it up significantly at the end, because errors hurt me.

It seemed appropriate that I take the test, but I did use all 5 fingers. However, I got a work phone call 30 seconds in so I was a little distracted the 2nd half of the test. I ended up with a 60wpm score and a 98% accuracy rate. The best that I've tested before was about 80wpm..

    29 WPM with one finger.

    Not bad in my opinion.

With the typing program I had at my school, I maxes out at about 55 or 56 wpm on a test. (No errors, btw :D ) I tried the test here and was getting similar results (45-55 WPM). I like this a lot better than the one at school, though since the one at my school doesn't allow you to back track at all so if you accidentally hit two keys at once, you couldn't fix it.

Hehe..., I had some fun with that program. One day I took a screen of it and edited it to make it look like I typed 1000+ WPM. I put it in a powerpoint presentation and freaked some people out. :)

Got an 89. 100% for accuracy, since I went back and corrected my mistakes.

What do you need to be a secretary?

60 wpm. At least I type faster than I write.

Did you all look at the records? 187 wpm? Now that's fast!

I typed at "66" but my eyes got blurry, so i had to adjust my contacts, I think I was up as high as 74.

84, but I really blew it in the end. I was up at about 90, then I started making errors . . .
