My wife is currently about 5-1/2 months pregnant. Every ultrasound/sonogram she's had, I've asked the doctor, "Are you sure there's only one heartbeat in there? I don't want a surprise later." Twins run on both sides of our family and it was a huge fear for me having another child (we have a 3-yr old. boy). 2 daycare bills will already be larger than my mortgage. I can't imagine 3...or 4. That said, I love my son more than anything and I'm ecstatic we're having another. My only advice is to get all those little projects out of the way now and spend as much time as possible with your current 2 children. Good luck to you, sir.
Congrats! I'm about a month and a half out from a baby girl - getting the room ready right now. I can't imagine nesting for two!
I was worried that I would have twins because my wife has twin sisters and I have several twins on my side too. Godd luck man and congrats!
She runs a business from the house, so she's been "at home" since before the first one. We won't have significant school/daycare expenses. They never really recovered, so I won't miss them. It's ironic because the first one took almost a year to conceive and we were starting to talk to the doctor about testing for infertility. The second one took it's time as well. And then my wife decided to get super-fertile one day. I was pretty convinced that we'd have a pretty low chance of success, and I'd get a long period of "trying." Good luck to you. Yeah, I saw that and I was trying to upstage you. Congratulations! And to oomp too. I'm a sensitive '90s man in touch with his feminine side. lol. A lot of women I've told are envious. Fewer deliveries, pregnancies, etc. But, I'm worried for my wife. About a month in, she's more tired than she's ever been. Twins are supposed to also cause more nausea (coming soon). She's had gestational diabetes before, and I worry she'll be even more likely to have it again now. And both deliveries were traumatic, including 1 emergency c-section. Twins should be smaller and come one at a time, but I don't imagine it's easier. Fixing the house now. My dad will help with a couple of projects in the summer. And then I can coast for a couple years, hopefully.
congrats!!! i am a fraternal twin myself and love it! it's like having your best friend over for a slumber party every night while you're growing up. we have a brother 27 mths older too so 3 kids in 2 years was pretty hectic for my parents. but in the end, i think it's a good thing. good luck!! make sure they have separate identities and treat them as individuals. i'd refrain from referring to them as "the twins," esp once they get to 8-10 yrs old. they need to know they are viewed differently by family. congrats!!!!
Congrats! Sounds like you're going to have your hands full. My wife and I are expecting our second child July 5, and we were both cringing at the thought of twins. They run on both sides of our family, and our house could not accomdate that many people (not to mention the shred of sanity I still had left). We were both quite relieved to see the initial sonogram should only 1 baby. Best of luck with the pregnancy.
Two times the happiness! And 2 more kids to claim on your tax return! I didn't get any sleep with one kid, so I can't imagine two. Good luck!
That was pretty much my wife's first thought. She's obsessed with tax exemptions. So, twin naming: should I pick rhyming names, names that start with the same letter, or names that are anagrams of one another, like Tomax and Xamot?
my sis and i have 4 letter names that begin with the same letter. i like the anagram idea!! never thought of or heard of that one!
A good friend of mine is named Charae, which is a meshing of her parents names (Ray and Charlema) and Charlema was a meshing of her parents names Charles and Wynema. Kind of weird.
RE: Names We're not twins, we only look ALMOST alike, but my brothers and I have the same first and middle name initials, so our initials all look alike. This only bit us in the hiney when immigration was looking for one of us, and all of us said to each other: "that's not me, they're looking for, joto, it's you!" Also, paternity lawsuits are dismissed when the chick doesn't know whom to sue.
Congrats!! My husband and I are trying for # 1... seems to be a never ending process.. best wishes with two...
