my thoughts exactly. I love the cinematography in breaking bad with the Time Lapse sky scenes and over saturation of the scenery. really strikes a cord in me, subliminally. really hoping this will turn out well, as this is the last season of BB.
hmm, it must be on my DVR then. all the same, though. I'm diggin the cast so far; helen of troy, esteban the drug dealer, and that dude from all those 90's teen movies. I think i last saw him in 13 ghosts.
Must admit that I am not even familiar with the cast except for the police chief from Monk.... The whole Juarez killings and the bridge (tunnel in #2) aspect really stirs my interest.
After watching this first two, I hate it. Least suspenseful drama ever. I'm going to give it 5 episodes and if nothing has happened by then, I'm done. They speak of "twists" in the promos, so maybe something will happen at some point. Some shows take a while to get going.
I like it. I get that the woman has issues and it's interesting though it makes me not really like her character that much. The cop from Mexico I love. He makes the show worth watching. I was also pleased to see Lyle Lovett in it. Ted Levine is always good but his part is pretty small.
I like how this show is willing to take an honest look at the border and take on sacred cows like rich white businessmen and white male serial killers, the root of all our troubles along the border (I never knew what a problem they were, this show has opened my eyes). You can tell the writers have done their research and thought hard about these issues. It's like an hispanic The Wire.
Honestly, can you just enjoy the show and not feel like some vendetta is being aired against you? ------------ So far the show is promising. I do not think that the serial killer is the guy they're focusing on in the trailer. I think that it's Spoiler the guy Sonya slept with from the bar. The last episode teed it up too well with him just appearing at the station to say hi as they were leaving and asking for her phone number.
He's like that with all the shows especially anything that offends his political leanings...best to ignore.
Did you miss the parts of the show that portray problems with the corruption in Mexican law enforcement? Did you miss part of the show that portray a Mexican killer? Did you miss the part of the show that portrayed another Mexican killer (even though the second one may not be a main character)? Did you miss the part of the show demonstrating Mexican prostitution? Did you miss the part of the show portraying the use of under age girls for that prostitution? To act like the show is only finding problems with whites is very inaccurate unless you just missed all of the many parts of the show that deal with Mexican problems as well.
