Anyone else watch this show? I can't get enough of it. New season started a few weeks ago and I somehow missed it, but luckily they had a marathon on Sunday that I recorded. I'm about 3 episodes in so far. The woman landowner kind of feels like a plant. I don't doubt that she actually owns the land, but she seems to be trying too hard at playing the tough chic role. The scene when she pulled those guys over for speeding on her land seemed fake to me. Other than that, the show is great as usual. Can't wait to get caught up tonight. LOL at Tank getting married after knowing the girl for 6 weeks. Bless his heart, he just can't seem to get it right. I hope he doesn't relapse.
Yeah, caught bits of that very first season and really enjoyed how they were able to get three drilling crews with completely different dynamics: one with a good boss and happy personnel, the other with the rookie roughneck who was pissing off the team lead, and the other one with that driller/leader that wasn't very attentive. That injury with the drill, while the inspector was on site, scared the living crap outta me, can't fake that. I guess it's kinda tough to get something like that produced, just from a liability/safety standpoint.
a cousin of mine was killed on an oil derrick. i don't know the specifics, but basically they were at the top trying to pry something loose, they succeeded but the momentum threw him over the side.
The old guy that got hit in the face with the chain last season is back. He's blind in 1 eye because of that accident. Those guys out in West Texas are the real McCoy. It's kind of like watching a real-life version of Urban Cowboy. Minus the dancing.
The landowner chick is definitely a plant. I loved the 1st season. This is the last semi-real show on TruTV. Every other show they have is fake it seems.
I watched the last few episodes and a lot of them seem like plants. Tank getting his ass kicked was entertaining. That guy is so stupid he has to be real
The landowner is DEFINITELY a plant. Pretty much every scene that involves her just feels totally set up. Especially when she magically showed up at that bar where the roughnecks were drinking at. Oh yeah...she owns it! I'm sure those guys just happened to pick that particular bar... Also, all those people yelling at the old cowboy for drilling for water on their land...they all seem really fake. Pretty sure everyone else is real, but I'll bet the producers talked them into keeping Tank for a lot longer than they would have if not for the show. He's a total screwup on the rig. Also, I'll bet they've told that one guy to constantly antagonize Brandon because they know he has a temper. Really disappointed with the show this season. Last season was great, but yeah...this season there is a LOT of fake stuff going on. Not sure why, really. None of it is needed.
