So I'm having to go to prom within the next 3 weeks and I was wondering where I could rent a tuxedo from.

I don't want those ridiculous white one's that make you look "fresh" just something really classy...

I heard a lot of things about Al's Formal Wear and Men's Wearhouse, but I'm sure some posters on the board know more about this than I do.

    TIA.

My gf was an assistant Manager at the Mens Warehouse till we moved.

Anyways, she swears by that store. Says Al's formal is terrible compared to MW.

I think MW has better tuxedos for the same price as Al's. Also, I think they turn them over faster so I think the rentals aren't quite as "used".

I have used Al's in the past and was happy. You just have to go early for them to take your measurements. Mens Warehouse might be just as good, but I have never used them. Have fun, make memories.

That's good to know, but at the same time, I was wondering which place whether it be MW or Al's or even some other random place in Houston had a good selection, good fitting, and stuff that looked nice and not as tacky..

I suspect your date's opinion would be more valued than ours. What does she think?

Traditional looks better in formalwear. James Bond doesn't wear a red tie.

Al's Formal Wear and there's also another one that's pretty good (I forget the name), but yeah Al's is the most popular one.

I think you should dress up in a gangsta prom suit. Something with lots of pinstripes, quite possibly a cane and a top hat of course. Look for something in the colour red or purple, once again with pinstripes. Leave your weapons at home, because they often times search for this if you go to school in North Houston. This is how you keep it real and have fun at the same time.

Since you already ordered, it's not like you can really change it now. Personally I think you have too much black and should consider wearing a white shirt instead. You're going to prom, not a funeral. Hope that helps. :D

MW is far better. They take better measurements and their tuxedos are not as shabby.
