If you guys ever go to Corpus Christi, check and see when they're doing the sea turtle hatching. It's really early in the morning, but pretty fun watching all the sea turtles run for the ocean while the volunteers have to fend off the seagulls looking for an easy breakfast.
The new eggs appear to have been born from the turtles that NASA captured and raised after the deep horizon rig explosion and subsequent oil spill. Covered in a black goo, the rescued eggs were incubated in a NASA environmental sphere, and then later released into the Gulf. British tech company Weyland Corporation and the Japanese cybernetics company Yutani Corporation announced they will merger today to better understand how the Ridley sea turtle might be used as an example of how to bring back a species from near extinction. Some scientists think the eggs might be a link to discovering why all sea life seems to be evolving into crabs. This could be the major breakthrough we've been looking for.
