I'm going to address one thing . no one with common sense believes his head was banged as much if at all as he claims . he said over twenty times he was banged against concrete that is ridiculous he did not require stitches

What is the difference between confronting and being confronted?

That would only be a factor *if* Martin "confronted" Zimmerman after (and where) Zimmerman placed the call to police. We both know that didn't happen though, as Zimmerman continued to pursue Martin after making the call to police (and after the dispatcher instructed Martin that further pursuit was not needed).

So again, *if* Zimmerman had followed neighborhood watch training, Zimmerman would not have shot and killed Martin that night.

Huh? It is stated plain as day.

Persons convicted of a crime that comes with a prison sentence should go to prison.

You, on the other hand, want someone to go to prison just because someone died.

You take a big leap there.

What if Zimmerman had been allowed to just keep following Martin until the police arrived? Martin would not have died then.

What if Martin had not "gone MMA" on Zimmerman and made an effort to wrest the gun away? Martin probably would not have died then either.

I don't know if this what happened, but it's possible that GZ is responsible but didn't break the law.

In fact we know that he's responsible.

He may have also broken the law. That's what has to be determined.

But you have to meet legal standards otherwise you are doing your own brand of vigilante justice.

Both these men made bad choices but which of them were criminal?

I think you have legal responsibility as a licensed gun carrier. period . you want to be authorized to carry a lethal weapon you need to stick to that training.

You guys are all so one-sided and refuse to budge any to the other side. I don't think I have posted in this thread but here it goes. Both sides...

    1. George Zimmerman probably is not a BAD guy. He didn't murder the kid in cold blood. If you go to MMA and sign up for neighborhood watch, you are probably a little bit paranoid. You also probably failed the entry to police academy. If you are going to follow some punk ass looking black kid through your neighborhood you are also stupid. Call the cops if you are so certain something is going on. Worst case scenario you can pass the burden of safety and responsibility to the police and they look like racists. He should have stayed out of it. Plus, wearing a gun in your neighborhood?

    2. Trayvon Martin seemed to be as stupid as Zimmerman. If you take MMA+post pictures of your own guns (unregistered)+ refer to your weed in stupid english on social media, then you are a dumbass. Why do these young black youth feel so pressured to fall into being thug or acting thug if they aren't. He probably wasn't a terrible kid.

    Conclusion:

Neither Zimmerman or Martin are as bad as the other side would like you to think. But they both lived with mindsets that ended up causing this random collateral event. Zimmerman should serve some time for manslaughter. Not murder.

I can agree with this conclusion and if you look at my previous posts I think you'll see I've been saying something very similar. The only thing I don't agree with is that Zimmerman should serve time as it is not my judgement to call. I think the prosecution would have had a much easier time getting a manslaughter conviction over murder but that's on them.

Actually I believe that I have agreed with everything you've said except the suggestion of a Manslaughter conviction...

The problem i have with all you so called neutral observers is that you still have to make assumptions about what martin is to form your opinion.

I do think manslaughter is the ideal outcome although personally i think starting this after being told to mind your business is the biggest issue.

No big leap. Zimmerman was the self-identified "neighborhood watch" person. He was trained on what those responsibilities entailed. That training included making the call to police (which he did) and NOT pursuing further, NOT confronting, and NOT carrying a gun. All of which Zimmerman also did... and he has to take responsibility for this. All of this is not in dispute.

The "Martin attacked Zimmerman first" and the "Martin went MMA on Zimmerman" is Zimmerman's testimony and in dispute. Both have been accused as the aggressor in the later altercation between the two. But had Zimmerman had not continued to follow Martin and instead just called the police, the odds of an altercation diminish if not disappear. If he not carried a gun then he would not have shot Martin.

If... Zimmerman was driving drunk, and had an accident where Martin died, would Zimmerman be responsible for Martin's death? Would he still be responsible if Martin was not wearing a seatbelt? Yes, Zimmerman would be responsible. Just as he was responsible for Martin's death in this case.

If I'm Martin's father, I can live with this. If I'm George's father, I will disown him and won't lift a finger to support him. I just hope these GZ supporters will put their money where their mouth is. Some are so sure GZ is not guilty and should walk, legally speaking. If Martin happened to be their own son, do they stick with their "verdict"? GZ supporter? Anyone?

Exactly. You will find new stand on a same set of evidence.
