Could be... And unlike other high profile cases Zimmerman has to take the stand to claim self defense..
That doesn't matter to me. The choice is clear: when you make a mistake, you go out of your way to make it right-- especially if it involves someone else's valuable property. There is nothing to discuss really. I'm just saddened that so many here think they feel otherwise. If I walked off with their $400 phone, they'd go ape****. I said "strapping," you said "powerful, strapping." Period. I know what strapping means. I was a 6' 1" 165 LB strapping young man at Trayvon's age. I was a high school varsity basketball player. The Milwaukee Bucks' Brandon Jennings is listed as 6' 1" 169 LBS-- slightly larger than Trayvon. Sorry but Trayvon was not Steve Erkel. Wait, I thought you said that I was the only one who had made up my mind? There are three things to argue about: 1. what "evidence" is relevant (when we don't even really know what is in evidence), 2. What that "evidence" is telling us, and 3) what we think happened on that tragic night There is nothing obvious about this case. That's why it has dragged on for so long. For lack of evidence. The evidence that has surfaced since then has done nothing to weaken GZ's account of what happened.
I pretty much agree with this sentiment. My response about the lynch mob mentality was referring exactly to what you have described was taking place here. I was accused of defending GZ when I was spending more time deflecting the harsh accusations about his racist motives and his aggressive behavior.
comment: racists don't self identify with their inherit racism. they don't introduce themselves to people and say "Hi I am a racist person, how are you? Today I will commit a racist attack." and they certainly don't like being called racists.
so you're conceding that he lacked malicious (racist) intent? how did zimmerman know before he called 911 that the 911 operator who was going to answer the call wasn't black? is he psychic? i just find it hard to believe that a malicious racist would call 911 to give play-by-play of his exploits. for this to be plausible you would have to believe that zimmerman is some kind of sick, sadistic, deranged sociopath.
Sure I could. I would venture to say I would be more unbiased than say . . someone from Semi Valley. Rocket River
When you profile someone based on appearence and race it is at best bigotted . . . and usually at least a bit racist Rocket River If I was suspicious of you because you are white. . . I would be racist. If I just follow you and treat you a certain way because you are white. . that is a racist action.
What is the evidence that Martin was profiled, though? You can't just call it "profiling" every time a black person gets stopped or questioned. You do not have evidence that the fact that Martin was black was the reason he was followed/questioned.
This is true, we can't tell, but it seems pretty likely. Based on, if I remember correctly, Zimmermans friend who talked said something along the lines of "There are documented crimes that are done by young black males in our community." when asked why Zimmerman would follow Martin.
Please provide a link to those quotes. I do not accept your "if I remember correctly" and "something along the lines of" evidence. Please challenge yourself to provide more logic and evidence behind your posts.
