I liked Battle of the Planets/G-force better. But I had a nice collection of Transformers when I was a kid.

Of course, I then went through that nasty fireworks and pyromaniac stage at 13. Optimus Prime never knew what hit him. Poor guy, he deserved better. :(

Any kid that had the Optimus Prime transformer was king :)

Anyone remember Astro Boy? I use to watch that show. I remember one day they killed him and I cryed :)

How about Masters Of The Universe with Castle Grayskull. That one was great. I use to love that cartoon, I remember getting toys from tha cartoon when I was a kid in hospital (I broke my leg when I was 7).

Voltron...thats was another cool one. Getting the complete Voltron toy was great....untill you lost the peices one by one. :D

There would a couple of others thats names I cant remember One was a cartoon with this giant gold condor and they were searching for a city of gold (Or something like that).

The other was a cartoon where all the people were...um, sort of like cat people (Not in a pansy way, in a kick your arse kind of way). They had this castle was was fairly good. I dont remember much more then that (Alot to work with hey!).

My last cartoon would have been the Ninja Turtles. I LOVED that cartoon. I had all the toys from that series.

Anyway thats the trip down memory lane over. ;)

Being remade with modern language with overly flashy courching tiger hidden dragon wannabe action sequences

    Only the lions.

I was flipping through an action figure magazine and B&N and was surprised to see some of the high prices for 80's era Transformer, He-man, and G.I. Joe action figures. I always knew Star Wars figs were expensive, but man...

Some of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle figs were expensive...and original April O'Niel in box was like $250. (they apparently had several editions of it, but if you have the first one, hold on to it).

The 3.5 inch G.I. Joe figs were expensive too.

But the most was The original Optimus Prime, with all the accesories, including the trailer and the little cart thing that came out of it....it was like $400 in the package.

The magazine said take 50% of that if opened but still in good shape with all the weapons and accesories.

I need to dig out some of my old toys and see what I have!

. . . I guess that Black Cat really did hurt me more than it did Optimus Prime.

Transformers was - and is - the greatest of the 80's kids shows I used to watch when growing up.

Someone said the 'new' show sucked....well, yeah, it did if you were over 8. That one was aimed for too young an audience.

    However, that was last year.

This year... the 'new' new show is called Armada. Joining Cartoon Network's Toonami program block next week. (With a premier this Friday). Looks much better so far.

can someone just give a brief explanation about the transformers storyline?
the only thing i remember is that they were robots that could change into things. i think i remember a transformers movie where they battled in the insides of a giant robot. and i know there were these groups of dinosaur transformers as well as uh 'construction vehicles' transformers.

oh and if someone could explain thundercats, i'd appreciate it. are they mutants living in a cat castle in the middle of some jungle battling mumra?
