Watch the first 10 minutes of the movie here: http://www.sonypictures.com/movies/...khard_clipspage+walkhard_IGN_10minute_trailer
I normally would love to see this type of movie...I saw the trailer in the theaters and some commercials and to me, it doesn't make me want to see it...Hopefully I'm wrong and its hilarious, but I doubt it...
LOL, I just noticed that John C was also going down on his Ice Cream Cone. I guess I was too distracted by Jenna Fischer to notice previously. I don't know how this movie will do box office wise, but I know it's gonna be good. I was reading EW yesterday and I like how Apatow described it as making fun of the way Ray and Walk the Line seemed like the directors were really trying hard to win an Oscar, so that's why I laugh at all the over the top drama. "This is a really dark period!"
"dewey cox needs to think about his ENTIRE LIFE before he performs" "aint nothin' tragic gonna happen today!"
Great reviews so far: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/walk_hard/ Who's going to see this today? I'll likely have to wait until Sunday.
I have a feeling this is one of those movies where the fanbois will mock your lack of intelligence/sense of humor if you don't like this movie. This one is going to be so tremendously overrated by its supporters...just IMO without even seeing it.
They had a 30 min. promo last night on Comedy Central where the PC guy was a talk show host and the actors in the film were riffing off of his questions in character. It was quite funny.
wouldn't you have to have seen walk the line in order to enjoy its parody? this movie may very well be funny but it doesn't peak my interest the same way other apatow films have. just feels like they picked a very obscure flick to spoof.
I'm with those who smell stinkbomb. I'll need to be strongly convinced by those that see it when it opens. It just seems that team Will Ferrell is re-filming the same move over and over again with different backdrops. Ricky Bobby Ricky Bobby on Ice Cal Naughten Live Ricky Bobby Hoops it Up It's like a modern Ernest Goes to Camp franchise.... Evan
Nm...I get your drift, even if I strongly disagree with it. Apatow hasn't been a part of a bad movie yet, though.
I don't think it's a spoof in the sense that you have to necessarily have seen Walk the Line or Ray specifically. There have been tons of movies made about musicians detailing the peaks and valleys of their lives. Even the South Park Guitar Hero episode did that.
Yeah - I was wrong about Superbad. I wouldn't say it was hysterical, but it was plenty entertaining. The cops and McLovin were the entire movie, IMO. Evan
