Wow, how disappointing. The more we see the more disappointed that I'm getting. That's what happen when you try to stay true to the outdated Tron back in the 80s. The 4 girls totally look r****ded and badly acted it's like they are badly programmed. I know I'm being nit picky but in a computer world I expect something epic and unlimited creativity but Tron Legacy is leaving a bad taste so far. For some reason its remind me of the horrible movie Ultraviolet with the uncreative shattering glasses. That's what happen when you get a no name director with no creativity.
and just like those making fun of the social network you will come back to the thread and proclaim it the best film of the year. Just wait and see it. It's just a trailer (see Inception)
There's nothing new about this movie and the story. It's almost exactly like the first Tron movie but now with better SFX. Don't even compare it to Inception. Inception was a superior story telling.
I'm talking about trying to derive the story from a trailer. That's the only comparison I made to Inception. Trailers.
Will Daft Punk actually be in the movie like the video shows or is that just some special splice they did?
Saw it tonight. The visuals are amazing. The costume and art direction should win an Oscar. Olivia Wilde is a really good actress. Daft Punk rocks the 80's synth electro/industrial score. Oh yeah..... The story is f-cking awful. Didn't care for any of the characters or the father son sub-plot. It's slow and nearly put me to sleep. Guy next to me started snoring.
Hhahaha, that is the majority of the complaints coming from fans was the story... It's like Speed Racer, the visual and the look was awesome but the plot was a stinker... I'll probably go see it anyways...
I wish they would stop showing more and more stuff in the trailers until it has been released. The visuals are gonna be key and I don't want the spoilers.
That sucks that the plot isn't very good. My enthusiasm for seeing this film just took a major hit. I mean...they had 28 years to come up with something and, apparently, what they came up with is a visual feast in a movie that is too long, fails to connect with the audience, and bogs down in boredom too often (according to the reviews I read on it). I don't guess I'm in a big hurry to see this one now. Great visuals alone don't do much for me these days. It is expected. It used to be something to bring up how great a game or movie looks. Now, it's just disappointing if the visuals are lacking given where we are with technology today.
Yep... Speed Racer comes to mind... Actually I kind of like Speed Racer, good enough to watch it once and that's it...
Eh, I figured this wasn't going to be that great. I'll prob go see the fighter tonight instead... doesn't seem as though a premier viewing is needed for a movie like Tron.
Saw it this afternoon it sucks. Acting is beyond terrible, particularly the main character. Young Jeff Bridges looks like a cartoon, not even human. The story is just dumb. And there is very little 3D visuals for a movie that is supposed to be a visual spectacle.
Hahhahah, Good that the movie isn't doing well in the critics circle... I just love to see the fanboys cry their eyes out...
I enjoyed it. The writing is very hit or miss and the plot is a little 'out there'...but hell, it's Tron. The visuals are awesome, the music is spectacular and the action pieces are very, very impressive. The new light cycle and disc battle sequences are very well done. Bridges is a little Lebowski like, oddly enough, and for me it kind of worked. lol There isn't much depth to the characters, though you could see the attempt with Bridges/Sam - and really Wilde might be the best character there. CGI Bridges was the only bad visual and anytime 'he' was onscreen it kind of threw you off. Though, it worked better when they were on the 'grid'.' Overall, a fun movie.
I enjoyed it. Yeah there wasn't much depth to the story, but that's not why I go see a movie like this. It was entertaining and visually stunning.
