agreed.. first one was awesome and suspenseful and scary up till the very last act where it all fell apart. Once they showed the demon it became NOT SCARY and quite silly
As many have said...the first one was fantastic until "The Further" happened, and then it just became stupid. I'll check it out though. James Wan does a good job.
First one was good. The sequence in the further was bad, but the ending was good. It was just that few minute stretch that was blah.
Spoilers Spoiler The family moves into a house. Husband works and mother works from home. Writer maybe? Can't remember. Anyway, weird stuff starts happening at the house like it is haunted. Son goes into the attic and falls down and is in a coma. Doctors say that he had no head trauma, no reason for him to be in coma. Stays at home while in a coma getting tended to by mother. Haunting continues. Finally one night the mother hears something, goes into the boy's room and briefly sees a red demon over her son. They get a medium that comes over and reveals that she's known the family. The father had the ability as a child to leave his body and enter the astral plane, called "The Further" a place where demons and lost souls were. Unfortunately there were evil spirits there that wanted to steal the bodies of those who came. The son has the same power and he has been captured by The Demon. The father relearns how to go and does. He frees his son and they return. The father is acting a little strangely and the medium realizes that the father isn't really the father, rather one of the evil spirits beat him in The Further and claimed his body! The father kills the medium.
