This is going to upset everybody. However, the last ten games Yao is the only player in the starting lineup not to have one good game. It is money time and he is playing like a whimp. Lets say Chicago wins the lottery and offers Okafor and Chandler for Yao. Okafor will be a better rebounder and shot blocker. He can workout in houston in the offseason and we will never hear about him being tired. Yao is taller and a better shooter and scorer but not as near as tough. Chandler is as good a rebounder and better shot blocker than Yao. Steve will still get to throw alley oops because Chandler is the fastest highest jumping big man in the league.
Yao is 7'6 Okafar is 6'10 there is no way he will ever be able to match up with Shaq. You don't see Duncan attempting to guard Shaq and Okafar isn't as good as Duncan nor will he ever be.I think he is going to be a good player but Yao has a chance to be a true superstar and has proved to be an all star caliber player.I'll stick with Yao
In the last 5 games, Yao has avg 15 points and 8 boards. Those are terrible numbers!! Damn him. Let's trade him to dallas for Bradley. Yao has slumped recently but carried this team to the playoffs, while Francis has been terrible all year.
Not a bad idea, at least we can see what Yao can do when he play with Hinrich in a much weak eastern conference. And SF also has a very mobile and strong center. Yao was asked to play for Bulls and Knicks by Chinese NT initially. So this trade will make Chinese NT happy, make YOF happy, make SOF happy.
Good trade idea, but Rox should also ask for Hinrich in the trade deal. Still need a PG no matter if you got Okafor or Chandler.
Yao will be unstoppable in the eastern conference and make Bulls a playoff team. He will get much more attention and coverage in Chicago. As much as I love the Rockets, I am a Yao fan, so I would take the trade because I don't see it hurts Rockets either.
as much as I'd like to get Okafor, he's not a difference maker like Yao is. Not a chance. I don't really think there are any players I'd trade him for... I do agree that someone needs to get it through his homeland's mind, that he's got to get some rest in the offseason, or he'll never be what he COULD be, and that will be to everyone's chagrin.
hehe...If Yao play in Eastern Conference next season, I guess his number will be something like 30PPG, 20RPG That will balance the EC and WC a little bit too. It's good for the so call Rockets' fans, NBA and everyone is happy except Les Alexander. ( making less money)
trading an established star for an unproven rookie who's had back problems is a horrible idea. okafur could be become a great player maybe a good player maybe a serviceable player. yao has slumped of late but we know he's a very good player that's taken a big step this year towards being great. okafur is a hard working with great athletic ability and an uncanny ability to block shots but he has an undeveloped low post game. he could become great, but right now he's just another athletic power forward in the nba. i'd definitely draft him #1 but i would not give up yao to get him.
How come most of the posts on this thread are talking about how good this trade will be for Yao instead of if this trade will be good for the Rox? I'm impressed with Okafor but we're starting to see Yao come into his own. A few conditioning issues aside, I think Yao is proving to be the real deal. Okafor is totally unproven in the NBA. I would be all for getting Okafor, imagine a Yao + Okafor front court, but not at the price of a proven Yao.
Francis for Hinrich + Okafor sounds like a great idea. We get rid of Francis, a real PG to take care of the ball, and a PF stud. Kill 3 birds with one stone.
Yao only fans, what can you do? You don't trade a 2 time allstar center for an unproven rookie. You also don't trade a 3 time allstar point guard for a 1st year point guard who shoots 38%.
come one the thread starter clearly not a YOF and we don't want him. Please keep the YOF club pure. Thank you.
