Im sorry, i'm in favor of trading tmac too! I don't understand the love fest with tmac to tell you the truth. Yes he's a good player, but if your making 18 mil/yr you need to be great. If the salary cap is only 55 mill and you have 1 guy making 18 mil of that.....a player who can't be counted on every game, not only that, he isnt playing at a superstar level, then you need to trade him!! For 18 mill you can get 2 good players instead of the 1 player who cant even play 70 games a yr and has a bad back. So flame me out all you guys want for saying this....but yes, id trade tmac. We have a slappy for a point guard, we have no bench, we have a backup power forward starting....with that 18 mil you can get a real nba starting pg and a real nba power forward and a bench! well...maybe thats a stretch but instead of 1 player, your can get 2 maybe 3
Fine, if you people are actually going to be serious about this, look around the NBA and see what we could realistically get for T-mac. Mmhmm. Check the Vince Carter trade just as a teaser That said...this is just repressed T-mac hate right? I am seriously confused if you guys are serious about this.
you know what they say about bottling these things up, you explode. they were forced to bottle it up when yao was out and when he did come back the team still did well, but now the losses are consecutive so someone has to be blamed and the usual suspect is t-mac because god knows yao is infallible.
How soon we forget how TMAc played while Yao was out... And for those saying he makes 18 million dollars and doesn't play up to that... TMac will never score as much as Kobe. I don't want him to. As a Rockets fan, you shouldn't want him to, either. There's a reason Kobe and Shaq couldn't coexist, and now you're seeing it (i.e. Kobe shooting 40 shots a game). That is not MVP level. An MVP to me is someone that is selfless, and will get his teammates involved. One who is willing and able to coexist with another superstar (see: McGrady leads this team in assists per game). Tracy McGrady CAN do it all, he's just smart enough to realize how few big men there are out there. He's smart enough to realize that with the best big man in basketball, there's no need to take 40 shots a game, and there's no need to score 30 points a game. He could do it, though, if needed. His back problems seem to be under control - tonight was hopefully a fluke. I'd MUCH rather have him rested for the playoffs than not. As a Rockets fan, you should be happy about tonight's game, as it gave us a chance to get our bench some playing time. We also saw how streak Luther can be. That's something we need in the playoffs. In fact, I'm all for Luther starting the rest of the season, and using Tracy as a 6th man. So before you continue on with saying how you want to trade McGrady, take a look at his all-around stats and his contributions to this team. You'll find that he is still a top 10 all-around player in the NBA, and he deserves to be payed like one. Yao is as well. With both of these guys, we have a good shot at being competitive for YEARS to come.
Yeah he can't even be called a star recently. You're right. He only lead his team without Yao for 32 games and kept them in the 5th seed in the West. He only averaged like 29PPG during that span. He had Dikembe, Howard, Hayes, etc. (yes they stepped up, but still) to work with and he kept the team afloat, no, he helped them thrive. Can't even call him a star.
