To be 100% honest with you guys, I think this would be a better deal for Milwaukee. I mean, I know Ray Allen has the name and all that, but he really doesn't do anything Micheal Redd doesn't do for less than half the money. Honestly, what is Ray Allen good at? He's a masterful shooter, and a good passer. That's about it. He's 6'5.

Micheal Redd is 6'6, I think he's a better shoooter, but by reputation is only slightly at a disadvantage, is younger, plays harder, and has a cheap contract. He also gets to the rim better than Ray Allen.

Now, by acquiring Mobley, they have themselves damn good 1-2 punch at the 2-guard spot with Mobley backing him up, and Redd occasionally playing the 3. By making this trade, they also greatly upgrade their inside presence. Both MoT and Cato are better than any player on the Bucks frontcourt, save Anthony Mason (MAYBE) who is getting up there.

Mobley, Cato and Moochie for Allen and Ervin Johnson sounds great though. If we can't get Redd, I'd LOVE to get Allen. His good passing would be nicely utilized alongside Francis, along with his size and brilliant shooting skills. Ervin Johnson would backup Ming in place of Cato.

Hell, Cato would be one of the top centers in the East. I can see it. And I'd do it!

It would make more sense to give them Cato. We need Mo for inside scoring. We don't really lose much since Cato isn't playing much.

Rudy just wants Ray to know that he is a good guy. Rudy strikes me as the kind of person that has to be liked by everyone. You don't like me, I'll trade for you and prove it. Can you say, "Green Light, Ray?" Do you like skipping and hopping across center court. It's all Good, 'cause I'm a good guy.

Deuce if this trade goes down I'll be sure to join you! But like many others have said, I think there is NO WAY the Bucks would pull this deal. But I'm praying that I'm wrong! The only thing that gives me hope is Clutch saying he heard something similar to it as well.

Ray is only 27, this would be a great trade either Cato or MoT & Mobes, either one is fine with me....clear out the redundancy, we need players who can work with the new order.

    Allen would be FINE !!

I think it's from the ESPN article that ripped the Olympic coaches for "poor sportsmanship".

    http://espn.go.com/oly/summer00/basketball/columns/wojnarowski_adrian/791701.html

There was a time when Ray Allen said he heard one of the coaches tell him to get in to the game, he started to go in, then Larry Brown screamed at him to get back - that he wasn't supposed to go in. Mass confusion at that point. Ray was critical of the coaches afterwards.

"I don't think it should ever get to that point," Allen said. "The coaches need to make it clear to the players how many timeouts we have, who's on the floor, who's the guy we need to stop on the other team, how are we going to play defense. We've got to be in a situation where there are four coaches who need to be able to tell us what we're doing --- and that starts with the head coach on down."

If this trade goes down, I'll be amazed. BTW I think Redd is only like 6'3" but I could be wrong.

Sane, you make a convincing argument. I like the Ervin Johnson throw in! He is a servicable back up center.

Usually the team that trades the better player wins the trade. If the Rockets can get Allen I still say they get the better end of the deal but since the Bucks have Redd backing up Allen they can afford to at least CONSIDER options for trades for Allen. Allen would be perfect for the Rockets because he would stretch the defense, something we TRY To do with Glen Rice and Cuttino Mobley. But the difference is Allen's jumper is so much more consistent.

The Rockets would have Allen, Francis and Yao, their 1-2-3 punch. Their three all-star players much like Dallas's 1-2-3 punch in Finley-Nash-Nowitzki.

If this trade doesn't go down, I'll be so pissed at Cuttino for ruining his trade value with his shooting the last 4 games, not to mention his biopsy probably showed up positive.

Sounds like microanalysis to me. Doesn't really have anything to do with how Ray views Rudy T as a person.

I can't see us giving up Taylor to leave Eggie as our only PF. I'd be OK with it if it was Cato, though.

We can always hope ... but as of yet there has been nothing credible behind this rumor. There are lots of rumors, but usually very few with substance.

I find sometimes also that rumors get started here and since so many legitimate people come here, they check around ... and next thing you know it gets back to you and you think maybe this is backing the info, when in fact it came from here in the first place. Strange. So I'm always careful to find out where the news is coming from. BBS has really taken a life of its own.

If I hear anything and I can pass it along, I will.

I thought he was 6'3 also, but he's listed everywhere at 6'6. Ray Allen listed at 6'5?

Wow. Maybe I'd rather have Micheal Redd.

Anyone know of any Bucks message boards? I'd like to know about how these guys play D.

First Off, Trade or not, I'm putting $20 in the tip jar. I don't get this much mileage out of a Lotto ticket.

What do you say, we land Allen? We all throw the BBS a bone?

    Thx Clutch.

As much as trading Mobley for Redd or Allen would improve this team, I will actually miss Cato if this trade goes down.

The one-two punch of Ming & Cato, has been pretty good this year. I think we definately need Ervin Johnson to be thrown in to this package. Who is going to backup Ming? Collier? There's a scary thought.

    My vote is for Redd!!!

    I'm with ewfd...

Our supposed needs are a point guard and power forward, yet we give up a power forward and get a shooting guard in return? Giving up Cato would be an even bigger mistake, as he's the only player on this team that aggressively goes after the boards this season...unless Cato were moved to the starting power forward spot alongside Ming...

    I don't like it...

    Clutch,

However, this is the first time this particular rumor has been posted on the BBS, so.....it could be real.

    (insert X-files music here).
