Eddie Griffin, Glen Rice, and Kelvin Cato AND MAYBE a 2nd Round Draft Pick for...
    Tim Thomas, and Anthony Mason.

    OR

Eddie, Glen, and Kelvin for Tim Thomas, Toni Kukoc, and a 2nd round draft pick or a bad contract.

We give up Eddie because he is not improving. Bucks want him because he has shooting range and still has potential. He is also cheap. They have too many forwards.
We give up Glen Rice because he's useless. They want Glen Rice just for more veterans and his contract expires after the season is over. This frees up $9.2 million...which is a lot.
We give up Cato because Yao will be playing more and more next season. Bucks want Cato because all their centers are incompetent and Cato is 2nd in the league in 48 minute rebounding efficiency. He is just what they need. Rebounding and defensive inside presence. They need defense.

Bucks give up Tim Thomas because...maybe they have too many forwards. Thomas complains too much and they already have Michael Redd, Desmond Mason, Toni Kukoc, Anthony Mason, Marcus Haislip, and Dan Gadzuric. Way too many. We want Tim Thomas because he is an excellent 3 point shooter and all around shooter. He is also tall for a small forward.
They give up Mason because he isn't that great. We want him because he is big and just big and maybe just takes up space...
They give up Kukoc because he is getting older and makes a lot of money...we want him because he is a good playmaker and good shooter. Good all around player. Still pretty fast.

    EG 2.2 million + GR 9.2 million + KC 6.7 million = 18.1 million
    TT 10.8 million + AM 5.0 million + Anybody = 15.8 million.
    TT 10.8 million + TK 8.8 million = 19.6 million.

    ?

    Steve Francis/Moochie Norris/Tito Maddox
Cuttino Mobley/Eric Piatkowski or Jon Barry/Juaquin Hawkins
    Tim Thomas/James Posey/Bostjan Nachbar
Toni Kukoc or Anthony Mason/Maurice Taylor
    Yao Ming/Jason Collier

Our managment team has refused a Eddie Griffin for Rashard Lewis trade.

I would take Rashard over Tim Thomas every time.

I don't really think it's wise to trade Griffin now, when his value is at it's lowest and potential is at it's highest. How many players have shown considerable imrovement at age 20 other than Kobe and maybe KG? Players like T-Mac and Jermaine O'Neal looked like the biggest busts in the history of the league until they were in their 3rd or 4th season at age 22 or 23.

Players like T-Mac and Jermaine O'Neal didn't decide to smoke pot.

Griffin was actually getting better last season and making a bunch of shots...

Eddie is horrible. Can't you tell?!? We give him so much playing time and he still can't make an easy shot 3 feet away from the basket.

Glen Rice. He's going to be gone anyways. What about Bostjan Nachbar? Do you want him to be sitting on the bench all of next season too?

Cato. We don't need him anymore. He would me making a lot of money by just sitting on the bench.

Tim Thomas is an excellent 3 point shooter. He is a better shooter than anybody on our team right now. And he is not old.

Toni Kukoc would be great. He's a good veteran and mentor. He is also a playmaker. He's old...but he's still faster than Eddie Griffin. He can shoot. We need more veterans and more shooters. That is him. Our team is out of control. Needs maturity.

I fail to see how come we dont need Cato? Who is back-up center?

I think Cato is one of the best back-up centers in the League, and with baby fat throwing up allover himself in front of the media, I think it makes Cato even more valuble!

At least he has kept his mouth shut and just played basketball!

    Just a thought.

The Sonics have 4 Centers and would love to give us one. :D

Elden Campbell is a playoff experienced vet with good hands who could probably be had for about half Cato's salary and about half the contract length.

I will take it, where do I sign? However, I think the original idea was for Anthony Mason, and I do fail to see that!:D

    What the heck?!? lol...

When was the Sonics ever mentioned in this thread?

Well since nobody wants Anthony Mason...then go with the 2nd trade.

Eddie Griffin, Glen Rice, and Kelvin Cato for Tim Thomas, Toni Kukoc, and a 2nd round draft pick or a bad contract.

We would be very soft at the power forward position. Very little rebounding. But we would be getting Tim Thomas. TIM THOMAS!!! Has anyone seen him play? He is a true shooter.

Kukoc would be Bostjan Nachbar's PERSONAL TUTOR!

And then we wouldn't need to resign James Posey. We could resign Kenny Thomas instead!

    Steve Francis/Moochie Norris/Tito Maddox
Cuttino Mobley/Jon Barry or Eric Piatkowski/Juaquin Hawkins :)
    Tim Thomas/Bostjan Nachbar/Terence Morris
    Kenny Thomas/Maurice Taylor/Toni Kukoc
    Yao Ming/Jason Collier

Where are you getting those two ass clowns from? I thought you were trading for Tim Thomas and Kukoc.

You must have missed the multiple threads about Kenny Thomas utterly and completely hating Houston.

Bold apparently doesn't work in quotes, I meant to have Piatkowski and Barry's names in bold.

The trades proposals in this BBS is getting worse day by day. Anthony Mason and Tim Thomas... give me a break.

I wish we would have made the trade for Rashard Lewis. We could look like this.

    C: Yao / Cato / Collier
    PF: KThomas / MoTaylor
SF: Lewis / Rice / Nachbar
    SG: Mobley / Hawkins
    PG: Francis / Moochie

It's a little better IMO than what we have now, although still NOT a playoff team.

Maybe next year, Francis will take his head out of his arse and play smart.
