How in the HELL is trading Luther for a late first round pick any kind of an upgrade? Lame ass idea. Keep Luther.
We gotta keep Luther. Picture this, towards the end of a tied up ball game...we going to need Luther's clutch 3pt ability if T-mac/Yao are double teamed. The guy spreads the floor and as we have all seen, the guy isn't afraid to take a big shot
he is clutch. or picture this. MJ or francis get hurt...i'd rather go to luther than brooks at this time
Definitely, we can never have too much talent, Luther will get his fair share of minutes. Throughout the course of a season, injuries are bound to happen. The more weapons, the better plus still think Luther has great upside and under JVG we didn't get to see what he can fully contribute on a nightly basis
i agree but i think what we've seen from luther is what he is. A good/great shooter. His ball handling has improved each year slightly as well as his ability to cut and finish. Still, he has work to do. But he's the type who will always get a little better each year.
We're going to have a crowd of guys running into each other getting to the rim...we're going to need some snipers to keep defenses honest and not try to just pack the paint. I just like the idea of having the 4th most accurate 3 point shooter on our team when we need him. James had a down year last year shooting 3's....our other guards are streaky...and Battier is streaky, shoots a limited amount of 3's and has less spots on the floor where he hits them.... Brooks hasn't faced an NBA season and has been struggling....Novak can't get on the floor because of his D. Luther is still valuable to us. It's not even about maximizing his market value....I think he's an important weapon. 3 point shooters is one area where we are not loaded at.
could have not said it any better. he was 4th best last year. this team has been trying for years to get depth not u want to get away from it. makes no sense.+
Luther Head is better than mike james and steve francis. He makes big shots, and is perfect for this offense. The guy will be closing games in the 4th quarter
this is a good idea because we have too many guards and probably could get a veteran PF/C. I personally think we don't need to play Yao too many minutes. Lets keep him fresh for the long haul. I've had enough of the injury plagued seasons. I'm sure Ricky A doesn't want Yao to turn into WEBBER.
but, he can shoot, cut, and jump. i think alot of his struggles can be related to the notion of van gundy having players on the lock down. of course luther cant dribble as well as a point, but he doesnt have to. we have james, tmac, and stevie to take care of the ball handling (with all the points we have on this roster, why would we want another?)... in regards to his passing, i think in van gundy's offense we have not been able to see some of our young players potential... or in other words, we havent been able to see our youngins 'play'.. jvg would mandate what he would want out of his players, and if you tried to do something different, or 'think outside the box'.. you would be in his doghouse, especially if you were young. just look at vspan.. i believe luther simply conformed his game to van gundys uncreative bball style, and possibly sacrificed a couple of years of his development. i guess what it all comes down to, is that i believe that luther is more than a spot up shooter, and hopefully we get a chance to see that.
No way anything like that will happen! lol i think if we gave up skip, shane, novak, reed, snyder, and luther that would be more like it.
Still won't happen. You are asking them to give up one of the best players in the NBA for some scrubs and role players. Even Isiah wouldn't do this one.
