Just like during the past summer, there will be no trades.

There is no redundancy of skills. Yao, Cato and Collier have different styles as do EG, KT, and MoT. Rice, Hawk, Nachbar and TMo all have different games.

The old cliche - "If ain't broke, don't fix it" will apply.

I am guessing Kenny Thomas may be dealt. Hard to say, but I am curious as to why they did not extend his contract.

KT, "top ten center" Cato, Mooch, Rice, some other cap stuff, and a 2nd rounder for Kevin Garnett.

Remember you heard it here first!

I think KT is the only one that will get traded. Very likely it will not be becaue we dont need him, but he will start griping about his contract as well as have a long face sitting on the bench. I like his hussle and all...but unless MoT and Griff suck and one of Rice / Nachbar is not able to kick in handsomely then he will get some PT.

    The Rockets wish.

I believe Garnett just signed an extension. I could be wrong though. And any deal for Garnett would have to involve Griffin.

HUGE redundancy amongst all guards in the rotation:

Stevie, Cat & Moochie all look to score first and none know how to run the break let alone the PG position as a whole.

I believe you are wrong on the extension. Garnett currently makes $25m and will make $28m next season. This is double the current max (his contract predates the current CBA). My recollection is the TWolves want to sign him to something in line with the current CBA so that they can compete for FA's and not hit the LT.

Incidentally, Szczerbiak's new contract was not a max one. He made concessions.

Does this mean you are suggesting trading SF, Cat or Mooch? :)

I disagree that not extending KT means he is trade bait. IMO, it was a smart business move by the Rocks who want Thomas to prove his worth. The Rox have Thomas' Full Bird Rights.

the Clips could mix things up with 8 contracts 'coming due' this summer, so -- Lamar Odom to the Rox for ? a pot of gold?

No Odom for the Rox, except that I am now considering it, as we are so desperate for a decent Point Guard, he could play Point Forward, although there would have to be a rule that he passes to the open shooter! M.Norris could be traded not KT.

    What a thread. :(

Admit that it's 'too early', but ask the question anyway.

It's going to be a LOONNNNGGG season.

Lamar -- just 'cause he's that good. And would fit in with our guys.

You never know what other teams may offer, but if I had to guess I would guess that the Rockets WONT make any trades before the deadline, including Kenny Thomas. I think Rudy really loves the guy and I think in the off season they will work out a decent contract for him.

At this time this team doesnt really need any more pieces added to it. What it needs is most is not a player but TIME to gel and develop chemistry.

Is there a way we can get Odom? His contract expires this year, and his value is wayy down. The Clips won't resign him because they already have Melvin Ely and Chris Wilcox. Possibilities?

    Cato/Moochie/Tmo + pick for Odom?

Rice to Phily for Derrick Coleman's expiring contract, to free up money to sign KT in the offseason without going over the luxury tax threshold.

But HP, citing sources, says there might not be a luxury tax next year. But I am still worried, as CD used this as an excuse to not offer KT an extension.

P.S. Cut Coleman about 10 minutes after the trade.

Yes I would in a heart beat. Moochie could be had for nothing!! Mobley I think could net you a very good roll player if you went that route (HUGE 'IF' & would have to be for a solid contributor).

Or the more likely scenario (w/ a coach who could see the light), you mix up the rotation:

    At the 1:
Any PG who is a true PG and Moochie off the bench (I do not want that guy in more than 15 min/ gm EVER!)

    At the 2:
Francis starts Mobley off the bench. This would give other teams fits trying to cover 2 guys who could go off at any time. FRANCIS IS NOT A PG. END OF STORY!
