You think that might have something to do with being incredibly fatigued because of what amounted to essentially a 6-man rotation going up against fresh legs all night long. Did anybody not play on the Spurs' bench? The players were all sucking wind late in the game and it showed at both ends of the court. Also, just about every last NBA team runs isos late in games with multiple possession leads in order to run the clock down and cut down the risk of a turnover, even if it means possibly getting a less than an optimal shot off. The coach has the four other guys in the corner to spread the court and lets the ballhandler kill the clock off then drive and shoot or kick if a double comes. The Mavericks run isos almost exclusively late in games.
What's your point? Because he abandoned the offense, the Spurs had a window to get back into it. But FWIW, it was great seeing 3 Rockets get 30+.
I honestly think Adelman and the players wanted Brooks to get his 30 pts. That's why Brooks took those ill-advised shots. That's also why the ball was inbounded to Brooks even though he hadn't shot a single ft all night. They knew he'd get fouled and they wanted him to have an opportunity to score a few more points.
My point is that many of you keep mentioning that brooks missed quite a few shots in the 4th quarter when in fact he only missed 2. He didn't abandon anything, the coach tried to run the clock out.
Very pointless thread. Very few people actually want to trade Brooks, it's just what role is best for him and Rockets. If you don't want to see a thread pop up after every bad game by AB, you should stop this kind of threads after a good game by him. It's very stupid.
It may have been 2, but they were crucial late game possessions. There's a difference between shots taken at the beginning of the quarter and at the end.
No and Yes!! Brooks is a Shooting Guard and should be used as such. Brooks is not a Point Guard, we do need someone else who is a Point Guard to start the Game. This Point Guard should mainly be a playmaker
someone's always gotta blame aaron despite Martin missing 4 shots in the last 3 minutes. It's getting ridiculous honestly.
Yeah you are so right..... My bad... Once i'm a full member of the YOF I want make any more GOOD SARCASTIC Threads about Brooks.... They will all be full fledge bash Brooks Threads..
I absolutely do not think that is what happened in any way, shape or form. Brooks is one of two players that is going to run the iso with 4 men in the corners play. It's him or Martin. On the inbounds, it's also going to Brooks or Martin and Brooks probably got open first. Not one coach cared about the stats in that situation. Perhaps a player did but not a coach in a game that was still on the line. I don't the players cared, either. The game was close and they were exhausted and just trying to close it out.
Eh. He played within himself the entire game. The only time it looked like he was forcing anything was during the last few possessions when he was trying to get 30.
Good Luck BB.... No matter what you say he's going to argue with you... No matter hiw much sense you make... he's going to argue with you... Now if you say Yao is the Greatest Player to play in the NBA.... He will agree with you...
Brooks was not willing to lose the game in order to get his 30 points. At that point in the game it is HIS JOB to shoot that shot, he or Martin at least. They were no ill-advised considering Martin has just missed 4. Who else did you want shooting that
Whatever man. This is a stupid thing to argue about. I know what I saw. If you think he played a perfect game every second he was on the court, thats your prerogative.
Martin and Brooks are the team's best ballhandlers, scorers, and free-throw shooters. They may have been tired at the end, but they're still the best bet when the team needs to run out the clock and/or get fouled.
