I'm sure alot of T-Macs problem is that he didn't step on the court in the offseason, trying to nurse his back back in shape. Most off-seasons Tracy probaly shoots a ridiculious amount of jumpshots everyday, to bot really step onto the court until Sept. is going to affect that, not to mention his conditioning.
its sad, but from the first three games, Tmac is not in his top form, not even 90%. He's not in his rhythm, and looked slow. Looks like he doesnt care about winning anymore.
Looks to me he's trying hard to stay out of Yao's way. Maybe a bit too hard, as far as his personal stats are concerned.
Just because he's playing TEAM BALL doesn't mean he has an excuses to not at least hit 40% of his shots. Almost all the games so far he's shot less than 40%. I'm not even sure if there even is one game where he's hit the 40% mark. And don't give me that team ball crap, you see him jack up shots out of NOWHERE and bricks. Sometimes his shots look horrible, not coordinated and barely hitting the rim.
Chill out guys. The guy just recently started to play ball again. It will take timt to get his game back in form.
He still has it. here are the reasons 1 he rested for a year and comed back without good help and indication how to play with the New Yao. 2 He is the kinda player who knows how to adjust and get better. He is and will always be our first choice in 4th quater. 3 His shooting is below his average without a doubt, however i am not concerned with that because shooting won't just vanish so fast. It is handling of the ball and driving to the lane make me a little concerned. 4 He doesn't have Sura around.
it ain't the ball. you know what i saw? terrible defense, no hustle, no attacking the rim and terrible passing. man tonight he looked like the randy moss of the nba: just didn't feel like "showing up" tonight. i wish van gundy woulda sat him. they played better with him on the bench tonight. send him a message... bring it or don't play. bonzi looked about 4 steps too slow as well. hay i'm a tmac fan like the rest of you, but look at it objectively: it looked like he didn't care out there tonight. i hope he rounds into shape soon.
sure you can with that brand spanking new ball! haha jk. just wanted to actually comment on his vision. its always been there, he's just passing up a few more shots he'd normally take to open guys. so its showing in the stat line but i dont really see anything IMPROVING for tmac. tmac's shot is definetly a concern and i really do think its because of his conditioning and fear of jacking up his back again. im not about to pull a matt bullard/bill worrel and complain that the arena was too cold for his shot to suck so much. bleh.
most like the openning for 04-05, where TMAC couldnt find his own position on this team. He will adjust.
T-Mac always have trouble get into it at the beginning of a season. Remember back in Orlando days when he had a terrible start, and thought about retiring? But I don't think it's gonna be a big problem, he just need sometimes to get into his rhythm.
I'm not sure if you guys noticed, but this is how Tmac starts regular seasons. The first few weeks in 04-05 he shot the worst he ever shot in his career. He then went on to average over 25, 6, 6 and we pushed Dallas to 6 games, where he then raised his game up to a whole new level. For all of you posters who are saying his shot is of "concern" lay off the panic button, just look at Tmacs history. Tmac keep on shooting.
Its been 3 games calm down guys...... give him some time to get in the flow of the game..... just realx t-mac will be just fine....
A lot of hesitation for onething and not much of effort on both ends of the court. With TMac's caliber he should be taking atleast 30 shots a game. man! I hope that back is not haunting him. Or otherwise game over for him! But i still believe that we are just beginning to mold in to one. GO ROCKETS!
i would say right now, Tmac is looking like the player who we say the first few months of the 04-05 season! Given some time and a sitdown with JVG, I think it will be fixed. I think some of the pressure of returning to his oldself might be getting to him a bit as well.
At times,Tracy seems not to be into the game! He is making careless mistakes, bad shot selection, wild passing and not holding onto the ball at critical times. His face sometimes indicates that he is upset about something and I would like what ever it is to be resolved, so that he can get back into finding his rhythem again.
