I seen T-mac at the M-bar club in downtown houston a couple of hours ago. dude seemed real relaxed and calm in front of the club as the middle class poor folk looked upon him. it was pretty funny how a couple of dudes asked T-mac "let me hold something", and he told them "it aint that good". then dude dissappeared into thin air.
I thought maybe I was just too old to understand what that meant, but I'm glad it didn't make sense to others either. themocitydon, can you help us out?
By saying, 'let me hold something', the dudes were asking for money. McGrady responded with 'it ain't that good', which means basically they weren't on that good of a relation for him to do so.
Oh, ok. I was also pretty clueless on this one. I thought maybe they were asking to hold his drink or something and he told them it didnt taste very good.
Actually, when Tmac said "it aint that good" he was referring to if the club was poppin or not. I'm pretty sure.
"let me hold something" = you got some money for me "it aint that good" = I don't have money just to give away to you.
The 'it ain't that good' phrase can have -in fact- a few meanings. One, I mentioned, being that their relationship wasn't good enough for him to just give them money. Another being that his pay wasn't 'that good', otherwise good enough for him to just throw money away, which we all know would be a lie! Hence, the first 'translation' would be more probable in this case.
Tmac is a married man and a superstar with too much to lose. I don't think he sould be hanging out at these ghetto ass clubs in downtown houston. Yes i've been to M bar, its ghetto.
On thursday Nights. They have a really good urban night..a lot of the athletes come out there and party. Same kind of crowd we used to have on Sunday Nights with the football players. He definently shows up. If you don't think so you should check out a few websites he definently goes clubbin in Houston. Not as much as the other people but he does go on occasion.
